2G GST Build, Need some help

Hey Folks I have a 97 eclipse gst, I am currently getting all the parts together to make faster. All of these are not on the car I got a 50 trim bulls eye turbo, Fmic, walbro 255, Aem wideband, and i haven't decided on injectors yet . But i was thinking something like 850's? The car is pretty much stock except for exhaust, bov, lowered, exedy clutch, fidanza flywheel, boost controller and upgraded brakes. My hope is to get the car into the 12's and make around 350 hp.

My Questions for you are what size injectors do i need? Are 850's to big or small?

Do I need a fuel pressure regulator?

What should I do tune wise? Dsm link? or do i not need it just yet. I live near boostin so i'll have them tune the car. And if I do purchase dsm link, how do i go about installing it in my car.

get injectors as big as you can afford and get a tune...which leads to you needing a tuning solution with bigger injectors..ECUFlash or DSM Link (my experience with Link is zero, but others love it)

you only need a fuel pressure regulator with a bigger fuel pump like a 255 Walbro..you can get by with a smaller pump with a rewire and no pressure regulator (but if you can afford it, go bigger with the regulator)

Sizing injectors requires some formulas to figure. You can find some calculators from some of the injector vendors like FIC.
I saved a file with general figures in it to refer to that base injector size to turbo A/F. It was posted in a discussion years ago so I don't know who to give credit for coming up with it. Injector size = turbo af.docx Just consider what fuel you will be running, your "go faster bug", future upgrade needs, etc if you don't want to buy injectors again. With that said I use the file as a guideline then error way conservative and oversize my injectors. Spending more now will save more in the future.

FPR yes

ECMlink is really nice (no experience with anything else). Eprom ecu is what you need that has a socket installed. Easy job to put the ecu in. It's behind the radio.

Since boostin is close I would give their ear a chew and maybe buy what you need from them.

I agree with previous post injectors buy the biggest you can afford no problems with going to big vs being to small you can aleays tune them down

Afpr yes you need one you can get away without it and having the 255 walbro but i wouldnt suggest it fuel isnt something to play with do it once and forget it

As for tuning yes you need a tune in my opinion from the factory as they run rich but anything beyond stock yes it is needed i would say go with dsmlink its very user friendly ive used safc aem and link and i would go link hands down everytime

Dsmlink install its easy its a direct plug and play you just need a eprom ecu send it out to link they will socket the ecu and install the chip pre tuned based on what you tell them when you order it the tune will be set enough to start the car amd do some cruise logs then you can play with the numbers and sliders from there

Okay I really appreciate this guys. I think I'm gonna get some used fic injectors from this guy there 850's. I'm probably gonna buy the fuel lab regulator kit then send out the ecu while I got this thing apart.
