Turboniam, could you check the airflow during driving by attaching some yarn to the hood at the edge of the vents?

That back facing scoop is kinda what I would be looking to do. How did you get that to attach to the hood?

I guess I could, but where everything is located, it is definatly extracting lots of heat because you can feel it when it is sitting still, especially when the fan is on.

Pop rivets.

I'm no hood cutting specialist, quick explanation on pop rivets?

they're these little pin looking dealies...you use a pop rivet gun, and it pushes the little bally on the end forward, which stretches the metal out on the end, and then it has a lip on both sides and seals two things together.

they're cool as ####, everyone should use them for everything.

Why for a WRX scoop would you use rivets? They come with 5 or 6 threaded bolts. Pre-drill holes for them, chop the hood up, and tighten them with some washers and nuts.:thumb:

I like the love bump, but only when thats the only thing there. I wish there were carbon or other hoods that dont have the bump so that centered scoops ore extractors would look right.

I agree. I think greyforest's vents look sweeter than anything, but if you're talking about scoops and stuff I think the bump needs to go.

Personally, I would either modify the backside of the bump to draw air out (which I think would also look friggin' awesome) or I would do what greyforest did.

I'll be going over to Greyforest's house this week to install my new big 16g (w00t!) and also to do the, now famous, Greyforest Hood Mod. We'll be performing a VFAQ step by step on my car :thumb:

STAY TUNED KIDDIES!

Because the WRX scoop I bought was an aftermarket knockoff, not an actual used/new WRX scoop from an individual or the dealership.

The shop I bought the scoop from sells them for about half the price other shops sell the WRX scoops for... I'm not sure if they are knockoffs or actual replicas of the factory scoop that other shops sell them for at the price of $150 or so... either way, I got exactly what I was looking for!!

Well, on the 1g, there actually is a small percentage of hoods out there that do NOT have the hump... I believe they came on the 1.8 only.

i dont think it looks that good

I think the main problem with your cutouts on the 2ga bumper is because it just looks out of place. Like you said, the 1g cars are a lot more blocky, so how about making it more of a french mustache type of look?

this is just a few snips away from a huge front opening... if you conect the top and cut off the sides, it will just be a big intake, better fro intercooling it think
