Got my 2g and I need some help with parts

I just got my 99 GSX gonna be imported from NY to Toronto this Friday and I got few questions about which parts to get.

What I am planning on getting (performance mods wise) for now as follows

Intake
After Markten BOV (recalculating back to intake of course)
Down pipe
High Flow Cat
Catback exhaust system

Everything else is stock as is

What I need to know what are good companies for the parts, except the high flow cat. I need to know exact names as I’ll most likely be buying them. For the exhaust I was thinking ether 3” or 2.5” let me know which one is the best. Also I don’t want VERY loud one but maybe the one which makes nice deep sound and can pass emotions here in Toronto Canada. Also what are approximate real life gains I be getting from these mods?

Those are pretty common questions around here. Running a search will yield you any number of options, and a lot of it is up to personal preferences, experiences and budget concerns.
However, here are my suggestions.
Intake=K&N FIPK
BOV=greddy type s or a crushed 1st gen.
downpipe=megan racing has a nice one, so does RRE but they want a nice chunk of change for it.
Rather than pulling together a dp and catback both of which can get pricey have your local muffler shop bend up a custom set and pick the muffler you like. I'd choose a magnaflow, it has a good sound to it. Going this route can save you hundreds over buying branded products like the Apexi and HKS cat backs. 3" is better but more expensive. It depends on how much modification you intend to do. If that is the end of your mods for smog concerns then stick with 2.5"

Like I said, those are my preferences, others will likely have more thoughts on the subject. Good luck.

Go with a 3" exhaust, otherwise you might end up having to buy your exhaust twice.

Ahh I understand that and know all about it Thank you for the links though they are very useful. BOV I am getting is Greedy Type S and I just got a VERY good deal on FMIC so thinking of getting the upper and lower pipes (with valve made for Greedy Type S BOV) and install that. I guess then I have to install bigger turbo/injectors /fuel pump to utilize that… god this never ends

Be careful what pipes you get because most are meant to go to your stock sidemount but if you have a FMIC they won't fit.

Ya I am getting my shop to custom bend some pipes for me to complete it and the ones I am going to buy made just for that purpose.
