I would definitely invest in some good instrumentation. At the very least a boost guage, but i'd also get an A/F guage, exhaust temp guage, and oil pressure guage, as all of these monitor things that could spell a big money dissaster very quickly. As for the intercooler, a front mount is best, but if you're not planning on going for huge numbers, a supra smic with solid piping would probably be sufficient. It all depends on your plans.

You've got the turbo and fuel to support some decent boost are you gonna run that through the stock plastic blow off valve?

I don't think it's a good idea to run that 1g manifold unless you gasket match the intake ports on the head.
The 1g manifold is bigger and will flow air better but if the intake ports on the head are smaller the air will hit that flat obstruction and cause turbulance and seriously disrupt the airflow.
If you do use the 1g intake mani you can also switch to the 1g throttle body which is bigger as well.

You have a aftermarket boost guage right?

Ok... Let me answer a few questions for you. The tunning guide will tell you a few things. But lets laydown the basics.

Q: Wanna Run More Boost ?
A: Needed Parts - Boost Gauge - AFC - Fuel Pump - Injectors - FPR -- If you plan on running a certain amount of power, you will need its equal amount of mods.

Example: My 1998 GSX - Big16G EvoIII Fully Ported by Forced Proformace wit/ EvoIII 02.
Walbro255hp, PTE 550cc, APexi SAFC2, HKS Turbo Timer, Greddy ProfecB2, UICP w/Greddy Type-S. Intake, 3"Full TurboBack (Megan 3" Downpipe "full 3" w/SSAutoChrome cat Back).

I have a hard time controlling the boost since the Full 3". So if you plan on doing that. Just do me a favor and get yourself a 34mm Flapper door to save you the trouble later... You NEED TO DO IT. I'm running LOW BOOST at 14psi (wit 18PSI Creep) and HIGH BOOST (20PSI w/Creep to only 22PSI)...

So if you plan on doing all that stuff to your car get yourself your Gauges Boost and A/F Ratio and also an SAFC-2 is going to be needed and someone to tune your car. A DataLogger of such will do wonders to.

Yeah, someone is.

As yet another once-fine DSM begins its slow trudge to the DSM Graveyard.

Oh, and -ahem- welcome to DSMtuners.

34mm Flapper Door MOD:

When a higher flowing exhaust is installed on these cars, the way there set up your going to get boost creep. BoostCreep = Trouble if your running high boost. Cause say you get on it at 20psi like me, and your car isn't tuned nore can handle 25psi ... BooM! Pop.... GOODBYE! So what happens inside the workings of hte turbo it this. When there is 0 boost, the WasteGate stays at stock spring pressure inside. Once pressure rises in the whole system of your car, the wastegate will go from 100% Closed (quick spoolup) to whatever the stock springrate is... The flapper door opens to Bleed off the extra exhaust not needed by the turbo for muitple reasons. So what happens when you bolton this BIG exhaust setup wit FREE'er flow. The exhaust is moving soo fast cause of the power increase and BS that it never get to make it out that SMALL hole they made for the WG Flapper. So someone decided to make it 4mm bigger and put a larger Flapper on it called 34mm Flapper. This replaces your stock flapper, and the exhaust housing needs to be ported for it also. Hope That helps, I'm on a break from my 14hr shift at work....

So head over to these sites to get more info on GETTING the parts, and GETTING it done....

www.slowboyracing.com (you already know them)

+ Search the Fourms looking for some other sites too... I'm getting mine from SBR anyway... Just dont wanna pull that turbo again till I need to put another part on!
