my 2g GST is in desperate need of some upgrades. so could you guys give me some tips on what to upgrade on a daily driver to add some power? im not upgrading turbo (i have the stock t25). so is it worth it to add a fmic or just change the hoses to hard pipes and keep the smic. any other suggestions?

my 2g is basically stock except for the drop and the rims. it has the looks but lacking the power. not looking for exhaust mods mostly mods under the hood.

You could get hard pipes (they'll help in spool, as they don't flex) and the lot, but the big gains reside in the turbo. FMIC for the t25 won't help much, in fact it can be worst as the turbo needs to work harder to fill it (t25 not being the highest on CFM).

I'm not sure as I don't have a meth/water injection, but I'm pretty sure it would help you get a bit more out of the turbo. Anyone more familiar with it feel free to chime in.

Follow the upgrade path that is provided on the site it is very helpful. And you won't need a FMIC with the t-25. I would get hard intake pipe with K&N filter, hard pipes for side mount. But and exhaust is something your going to need if you want any chance in increasing your power.

Timing belt, fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, trans filter (a/t), diff fluid, trans fluid, oil, coolant, timing belt, accessory belts, spark plugs, plug wires would all help.

Then, good tires, suspension, bushings (driveline/suspension) and brakes will make the car much more enjoyable and safer.

Then some stiffer motor mounts would help with traction.

AND THEN:
Switching to hard pipes and a 1G BOV made my '95 much nicer, don't get an FMIC, it'll make you slower on the T25.

Well then my question is your going to stay stock, kind of..Not go crazy with mods right?

My suggestion is get a boost gauge and manual boost controller, and turn up the boost to around 15lbs..
Also you can get a little extra umphh out of getting larger spark plug wires, and new plugs..But you could get hard piping for a little dress up..Also hows your maintenance, Is it up to date..

are their better SMIC's sold on the market? or is the stock one the best?

if i found another daily driver then i would have to problem upgrading the turbo

Supra SMIC (custom fit though), Dejon Super SMIC/Hahn SMIC/ADFX SMIC (all hard to find), Bulleye SMIC, not sure if they still make it

yeah my maintenance is up to date. the only mods i did was drop and rims. all my extra money went to the local Mitsubishi dealership

thanks for all the help guys. keep um coming!

yeah that won't be a problem...but its just i cant afford to have to car on blocks right now because its my daily. Thanks for the tip though much appreciated.

LOL i would have to find a supra SMIC first

I second the bigger sidemount..They will be more efficiant than the stock sidemount...But if you want the insta spool of the t25, you could always upgrade to the t28 or a 14b..But price is a big difference..the 14b would be the cheapest, but the t28 is a direct bolt on upgrade..The 14b requires a few things to make it work on a 2g...If it would be your first turbo install it will be a PITA..And you would have to have all weekend to do it...An experianced turbo installer can have a new one swaped in, in a couple hours..

I'm sure you can finf a supra sidemount on ebay for fairly cheap..Then you would have to get the hard piping..I think hard piping to the stock sidemount is under 150..

im trying to research some SMIC and cant find anything. would you guys happen know where i could get a bigger one?

I dont see the point in running a bigger ic on the stock t25?? Why dont you save that money and get a better turbo like the 14b or 16g? You can find them really cheap and will be a lot funner then that t25.
Just my .02

Anytime you mess with Stock you are bound to run into problems.

Mitsu turbos are very reliable..14b, all the 16gs the 20g. For you though, sense your not going crazy on mods, i would say 14b or small 16g.

ok....if i was to upgrade my turbo with a 14b or 16g...what kind of mods do i need to install it?

if i was to run a t28 or a 16g would i need a fmic?

a 14b or 16g require a jpipe for install on a 2g..And heres a thread that lists everything you will need for install.. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/394161-14b-install-help.html

Autox guys run t28's for their quick spool..You wouldn't need a Fmic to run a 16g or t28, but if you plan on running higher than 15psi then a front mount would be a plus..But The side mounts even the supra sidemount can support 350hp..
