Update for everyone.

Wendy has had chemo the last 3 days and is exhausted. She is very sick right now and sleeps alot. The support from the DSM/ Evo community has been just phenominal! The car was picked up on Sunday and is at Wier Automotive Racing. V3 link (Thomas Dorris took care of this personally) came yesterday along with the A1000 Aeromotive fuel pump ( Boost Boys and Girlz Racing) Thank you Sandra and Shawn . The FMIC has been ordered and is on its way also ( several guys from dsmlink chipped in for this). 1600 cc injectors( FIC donated ). Fuel cutoff switch on the way ( dsm family donated). 4 Guage wire, 8AN fuel lines, Racing helmet all on the way also. We could still use some pistons to get the ball rolling. 9:1 comp is the goal pistons. Im sure there is alot of things I am leaving out. All the little things will add up so I will post up the remaining things we could use. Again, Thank you all!

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

Anyone have a AFPR that they can send?

From everyone on 2ndgearburnout.com. We wish you the best of luck for Wendy and your faimly.

I'd like to help out with the AFPR, but I can't afford it on my own right now. If anyone would like to help out with the purchase, please pm me. Similar to what Sean did with the FMIC. If 5 guys want to send me $20 each, I'll take care of the rest.

Exactly:applause: if Kinda one person for each of the things left takes charge rounds up the troops Wendy can be taking this thing down the track to 10's in no time :thumb:

I have never met or know anything about the two of you, but my prayers and thoughts are there for you. I'm very very happy to see such an avid DSM'er and community.

I would also like to say that I think you are doing great, you seem to really be focused on her and helping her in anyway you can. You two seem to be lucky to have each other.

99gst_racer if you still need contributers PM me, I would like to help as well.

Wow,

I never knew everyone would chip in like this. You guys will be blessed for your kindness and generousity.

Just a little update. I just returned home from the hospital to get Braxton, my 10 year old, off to school. The ambulance was called this evening because Wendy was in so much pain and her oxycontin 40mgs were not even touching the pain. She is being admitted for pain management. Everyone, please lift her up in prayer:pray:. Its now 5:30 AM here and I have had no sleep and my baby boy Brayden gets up around 7ish. I will keep everyone posted on her condition. I will have to print out posts and take them up there and read them to her. Thank you!

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

Man that's ruff hopefully it's just her initial reaction to the treatment and she bounces back asap. Tell her keep fighting. They call it a fight because you always have a chance to win.

Good early morning,

I thought I would just jump on here real quick to post some info on Wendys condition. She is currently in the hopsital due to pain as you know. At home meds ie. oxycontin 40 mg tabs wouldnt touch it in additionto her break through meds. I experienced when that happened , I would explain it as an explosion that would excede chiild birth within her abdomen and lower back. This is really tough right now! Before I left this evening she asked me to just sit on the bed and told me. " We are going to to do this." She is determined and I believe she is young enough and healthy enough to give this thing a run for it's title.:hellyeah:

Good night,
Brad Pate

Stay strong Wendy and Brad, we are all behind you guys! Your support and her determination will see it through! The prayers will continue in the house of SpeedRacer.....

I wanted to give an update:

The turbo setup has changed, she didnt want to go auto so she needed something that spools good between gears and get off the line without a super expensive high stall. She is getting and FP green from Steve93talon, her online brother. Her car is super light and that turbo will do the job. Leave on a 2 step and she CAN drive = 10s here she comes.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

Hey everyone,

I have just returned from the hospital and I have to make a post about Wendy. First let me say she is a very simple person. She doesnt want a huge turbo or to change her car to automatic. She has told me, " I want to race again on the less is more theory" She is going to run a stock looking exhaust manifold with a bolt on turbo. She is going to stay 5 speed. She also said that if her car runs an 11 something thats okay. She will just work harder to get that 10. She thanks everyone for all their support! Wendy loves her DSM and believes in her heart she can get a 10 out of a stock appearing setup. I know she can. I do not want to continue asking people for items that maybe I wanted to see on the car. Its not my car, its my best friends "Wendy's". I hope this reaches each and everyone of you in good spirits and I hope you understand. Wendy says hi to each and everyone of you and hopes to see you at the track soon. Thank you guys for eveything.

Pictures are of O-ringed block and fuel pump.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

WOW,

You guys are unbelievable. You have pulled out another part for the build. I thank each and everyone of you! I know she is extremely happy about the car coming together. This build alone has been a God send to keep her spirits up and she has something to look forward to once the car is ready. I picked Wendy up midday today and she has been doing fairly well at home, other then the occasional grunt and groan. I must say I enjoy hearing it because I know she is here with the family. I truly believe that all of your prayers are beng heard and she is doing better beacuse of it. Thank you!

Still just waiting on pistons and we are pretty much set.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

This just in,

A full set of CP pistons have been sponsored by Majestic Motorsports of Jacksonville, NC. These guys do it all. Dyno, engine swaps, turbo kits, paint, anything you need. Also home of a 5 speed Supra in the 8s, soon to be 7's. I have known the owner (Richard Homer) of this shop for several years. If you guys are ever in the area, check them out or on the web. Big thanks to Rich!!!:thumb:

Also, the turbo has been purchased by by Steve93talon. We will be running the S259ET Borg Warner on a Mitsu housing with external gate off the o2 ( thanks to Tony). This turbo will make plenty of HP and will spool quick and no loss between gears. This is Wendy's online brother and he knows everything about her dream. Good looking out Steve! :hellyeah:

Also, Paul at JNZ tuning has sponsored a set of BC 280 cams to get this thing breathing well up top. Paul, thank you for all your hard work and putting up with me in emails. Paul is also working wiht Jim at JM fab for a SMIM. JNZ tuning ROCKS!!!

Build will resume when the pistons arrive and everything will come together pretty fast at that point. I will post pictures soon. Stay posted.

Thanks again to everyones support and prayers.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

September 2,2009

Brian Wier of Wier Automotive Racing said "The front mount showed up today along with the intercooler piping, couplers, clamps and blow off valve." Parts are starting to arrive daily. The goal is to work on the car Sunday. Put the CP pistons in, bolt up the head, put the BC 280 cams in. Mock up the FMIC and piping.

Wendy has been really sick the last 2 days, she has lost 13 lbs in 8 days. She went from 128( day she started chemo) to 115 today. I am really concerned, thats 10% of her body weight. The doctor said today that now is the worst of the chemo, day 8-10. She is strong and I know she is fighting it with everything she has. Her platelet count has plumbeted to 55,000, but her white blood cell count is holding strong so far. Please, just keep her in your thoughts.

Everyone. We are still short some items that are needed to complete the build. We could use a polished tial 50mm BOV and a polished tial 38mm wastegate. I am getting close in paypal monies to buy at least 1 of the items. If anyone has one used that they would like to donate, that would be awesome also. Thanks in advance.

I will be purchasing the JM Fab race intake on Monday the 7th, I am getting a discounted price for it from Jim. If anyone would like to contribute to this also, just PM me or paypal what you can. It all adds up!:thumb:

Not sure if this will help or not, but my wife gets the shot for the white blood count every treatment. Two treatments ago the nurse said that they'd been experimenting with giving that shot in the stomach instead of the arm. Believe it or not her bones didn't hurt near as much as in the arm. Not sure why that is, but they nurses said that everyone that has had it in the stomach has said the same thing.
