Women like Wendy and Saundra are a dine a dozen. You would not see this kind of support if she was not something special and the money is not even the biggest sign it's the backing and time and effort from everyone from me and Steve to John SHep himself.

On a lighter note Saundra you don't need anyone else to talk to you have a football team with you every time I see you LOL.

Hello everyone,

Another update, Wendy has had chemo the last 2 days and again tomorrow. She is still in good spirits. She is tired but seems to be taking chemo better this go round. The pistons are in and the head is bolted on with the BC 280s. The car is coming together nicely considering we can only work on it on Sundays, after church of course. Thank you all again and I will continue to update everyone. There are several items that we could still use. Please Pm me or I can make another list.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

Hey bro good to hear the car is coming together and Wendy is doing good. My heart goes out to both of you and I can't wait to see the car finished. Best of wishes to you and Wendy!

AJ

Good to hear Brad. I just got a job Hopefully I can send you guys some money when I get paid.

Tell her to kick that cancers ass.

Sorry to hear about Wendy. Just goes to show how close the DSM family really is:thumb:...All my best wishes to her and her family:pray:...Lets finish this car for her.:thumb:

Wendy still needs some parts for her fuel system so anyone who missed out on the fmic setup or the afpr I will be doing a new group(if same people want to chip in again that's cool if not that's ok too) to order some of the fittings and lines that she needs to finish the car. Pm me for info and to get in on helping out Wendy.

Wishes and prayers are always good but this car will give her something to look forward to and keep fighting for so any help is appreciated.

I'm sitting here at work just read this thread from the start and got teary eyed like 7 times. Brad as soon as I get paid on Thursday I am going to donate a few bucks here, I'm juggling to get my talon running as well (oil pump seized) and buy a winter beater but I am definitely keeping you two in my prayers and keeping an eye on the thread. It's Sunday so I'm hoping the build progress is moving on quickly. God Bless every single person that has taken place in making this happen, so many selfless acts I've seen. -Jesse

Thanks in advance guys from myself Paul and Brad

I am sorry to hear about what you and Wendy have been going through. Cancer is rough my grandpa had bone cancer and its hard. Im glad the dsm community is doing allot to help you guys and it is amazing to see what people you do not know will do to help out for a cause. I can't wait to see some more pics and I have been following this thread since post one. I am going to try to donate something but it may not be much but I will do what I can.

Good luck

Nate

I know that Brad and Wendy appreciate what ever you can give. If it's $ than that's more then they had beofre. I'm sure they know that times are tight and how hard it is to come up with etrat money these days. I'm sure they are feeling it first hand. So give if you can and don't if you can't. They are very greatful for everything everyone has done.

Just picked up on this thread.
Wendy is lucky to have a husband that cares so much for her.

I was diagnosed last year with cancer as well, Lympohma, specifically. So I know some of the things she's going through as well. I went through 8 months of chemo and radiation treatment, and it was really rough. I figured since I was going to be home bound for most of the year, I also wanted to build up my DSM. I even went so far to pick up a spare motor for me to work on and build up while I was at home, wanting to build up a 500hp car. Unfortunately I was way too ambitious and under estimated how badly the chemo and radiation treatment would affect me. I never got past a basic tear down of the engine.

Wendy, please stay strong, and try to maintain a positive spirit. You'll have something absolutely fun to look forward to once your treatments are over, and you have enough energy to take the car out for a spin.

P.S.
Raw ginger diced and crushed into a tea or mixed with some 7up will help with whatever remaining nausea the anti nausea meds didn't get to.

Cancer survivor!

Wow! What a good cause. I have been over looking this thread for almost a month I guess and I am deaply sorry for that. I would absolutly love to hear that all is well, and that day will come I'm sure.
I have watched cancer eat away at my 65 year old father since the day my wife and I got married, that call came through on our honeymoon. Anyway the docs have been telling him for 5 years that he doesn't have much time. They have him on some kind of Chemo pill that wears him out but seems to help keep the cancer from spreading. I said all of that to say this, stay positive and keep doing what your doing. You sound like a good man and your wife is lucky to have your support.
Best wishes to you and your family, my heart goes out to you guys.

Guys,
#
Wendy is in the hospital again.# Last week consisted of 3 days straight of chemo, then the following day she had a Nuelasta shot that almost killed her.# She was back up there Friday and they had to give her Deloted.# So now that is her breakthrough med. Along with Oxycontin 40 mg 3 X# day and still is in pain.# They admitted her and she is expected to have a transfusion.# I will keep you all posted.# I just want that day to come when she is behind the wheel!!!

On a lighter note, I did receive and email from (Jay)Jay Racing sent this:

Brad,
The Gates timing belt, NGK wires, Mishimoto aluminum radiator and shroud/fan kit will ship to you today. We're out of Tshirts and stickers, but they will follow shortly. Best wishes for you both today.

Thank you,

:applause: You're an amazing couple!

I am feel privileged just to say I am part of the same community as you two, and everyone else for that matter.

I just dropped a good bit of money on a major head repair but I am going to be donating at the end of the month. You're a true inspiration to a lot of people and I wish I could only shake both of your hands one time.

Nothing stops a DSM, and nothing stops a DSM'er. :thumb:

-Cheers Wendy keep kicking ass! We're all here backing you!-

Brad , nothing I can say really . This tears a hole in me to read this . Best of Luck , Best Wishes , much Love and Hope to you and Wendy .

I haven't posted in a couple of years ( ever since I switched to the dark side - 4G ) . came across this in an email . Sent a little help by way of Paypal . Plus you got my Love and Prayers .

I am sorry to hear a fan of Mitsu/dsm to go through this. A motivation for us all to strive even harder. Please keep us all DSMtuners member updated.

Hello everyone,

Sorry I havent posted in the last day or so. Just been alittle under the weather myself. The part that really sucks is I havent been able to go see Wendy due to my fever. BLAH.

Anyways, I did receive some parts today form Jay Racing. I tell you that Jay is one stand up guy in my book! The Mishimoto aluminum radiator and shroud/fan kit, Gates Racing Timing belt, and the car needs spark. So he even threw in some plugwires.

I beleive the Wier shop will have the JM Fab race intake, VC, fuel rail, and therm. housing tomorrow( Powedercoated). Looks like this is really getting ready to get really excited!

Steve, get that turbo here so i can take it to the hospital. That will get her attention......ROFL

I will update you real soon!!!

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

FWD right?

Could you use a ThreeSpeed scatter shield if I can dig one up?

Three Speed - Stainless Steel Scatter Shields 1G first generation dsm

Most tracks will require one in the 10s.

(We discountiued the FWD model but I will find one (if one if needed) even if we have to dig out the out tooling to make one special.)

Please let me know on the galantvr4.org board (same name) I visit there more often.
