getting in a wee bit late, brother Brad, Godspeed to you and your family,
a few words of comfort"by his stripes we are healed" Isaiah 53:4-5

This is the first I have heard of this as I haven't gotten on here lately. Are there any other parts you need? It looks like you have everything I can offer you off my car. I can help work on the car on the weekends if needed/wanted. Let me know if there is anything I can do, I am not far away.

We could still use some more people to help out with the fuel lines and fittings. If no one else chips in I"ll probably just use what Paul and I have on weds to order whatever we can and send it.

FWD right?

Could you use a ThreeSpeed scatter shield if I can dig one up?

Three Speed - Stainless Steel Scatter Shields 1G first generation dsm

Most tracks will require one in the 10s.

(We discountiued the FWD model but I will find one (if one if needed) even if we have to dig out the out tooling to make one special.)

Please let me know on the galantvr4.org board (same name) I visit there more often.

Harry,

We sure could use the scatter sheild. That wasnt even thought about until you brought it up. Sorry, I havent been able to post on this page or view for the last 3 days. It has been extremely frustrating. Thank you Harry.

Wendy is home from the hospital as of yesterday evening and is doing exceptionally well today. WOOT!!! She has been through alot this past week.

Will be at the Wier shop today and will post pictures. We have alot of items in this week.

Keep posted

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

Just sittin here thinkin. But aside from all the car stuff (which is great and all, don't get me wrong), I don't know too much about Wendy. I mean I know she's a member on here of course and I think I've seen the one picture of her on here. But do ya have more pics or information about her? Not trying to be a leg humper or anything and by all means, this would not be an appropriate time for that. But just think it'd serve her well if we all knew more about her. Especially for the guys donating to the cause. Maybe everyone else knows a lot about her? Just think it'd tie in with the story a little better cause I think about the situation and all and then think about how I barely know anything at all about this person. Mind telling us a little bit about her if that's okay? Those Extreme Home Makeover shows come to mind when they're fixing up the house but they start by telling you a lot about the people 1st. Just thought I'd ask......if that's okay.

There is a lot to be said about Wendy. She has been down a long rough road. I would never discount anyone else's lives but I will tell her story.

Wendy was born December of 1973. Grew up in the little town of Wilmington, NC and lived center of the city. She enjoyed the automobile from a young age. Wendy's father showed their customized van. That was big back then. When she was 13 years of age she lost her father. At this point in her life she was devastated. Like most girls, she considered herself "Daddy's Little Girl." Wendy truly loved her Dad. At this point, Wendy and her mother were broke. After several months of grievance, Wendy's mom "Susie" decided that she needs to be the backbone of the family. Susie put herself in college when Wendy was still in High School. Wendy's mom beat the statistics to become a Registered Nurse and has been for many years. There is also a lot to say about Wendy's mom. If you get the opportunity to meet her. You will love her, she is just as pleasant and funny. Wendy was lucky to have her as a Mother!

Wendy and I met at an early age, we have a 18 year old. You do the math. heh. We have always been in the car scene! It started as show cars that transformed into a true passion for a fast car to beat the other GUY. We have owned many cars to include a lowrider truck with a dump bed, 93 Dodge Avenger ( show car), 99 Dodge Neon ( show car), 95 eclipse GST in 95. It was the hotness!!! We hated the idea of voiding a warranty so we moved to cars that were paid for. Then the TRUE DSM LOVE came about. Wendy got her own 91 eclipse GST. It was alittle rough around the edges but that's why she wanted it even more. RIDICULE??? FWD??? What are you thinking? She was asked. She just smiled. I went off and bought a 90 Eagle Talon AWD..replaced the 3 bolt and it was on. This car was beautiful. It was bought for her.She didn't want to hurt my feelings so she raced it and did a best of 11.8 @ 115 , 1.56 60'. Oh, I was impressed. This was back in 2003-2004. She had a true love for her FWD so we sold the car. Her best was 12.1 @114, 1.69 60' in her FWD. These times for both the AWD and FWD were on big 16g turbo's. She CAN drive!

Here is where it all starts to change. Wendy got pregnant and we were so excited to have our 3rd and final child. Late in her pregnancy we found out that our baby had cleft lip and would need surgery. After Brayden was born we have made numerous trips to UNC Chapel Hill for his consults. His surgery went exceptionally well. After months we noticed his head was flat in the back, "Plagiocephaly". Bray wore a helmet for 6 months, each week going to Chapel Hill to have areas scraped out of the helmet so his head would grow in that direction. This was draining us!!!

After I was going through a buy/sale of the dealership I ran, I was laid off. At this point we lost all health insurance. This is where our treatment and doctors visits started to deteriorate. For some time before Wendy was diagnosed with cervical B1 she had lots of pain but no one could find out what it was. We didn't have insurance! This remarkable doctor at the community health center really showed Wendy compassion. Dr. Bajnah sent Wendy to have a MRI, this lead to a CT scan which lead to detection. The tumor was the size of a softball. Treatment started at the Zimmer Cancer Center in February of this year. She was treated with chemo and radiation. We thought everything was fine, until our trip to Jersey. She was in a lot of pain and didn't tell anyone other than me. Wendy wanted to enjoy the Showdown at Englishtown and didn't want to ruin it for anyone else. Our trip home was excruciating for her. Pain, throwing up, feeling horrible. We went to the hospital on return to find out that it had traveled through her lymph nodes to her liver. During this time between the new cancer she was working to get the car back together. It was pulled out of the garage and panel were pulled, replaced, sanded. She was working toward a clean car this go round. You guys will make that happen. Thank you!!!

I just received this email:

Dear Brad and Wendy,

We can't imagine how difficult the situation you guys are faced with
right now. I just learned of your thread today from Harry over at
Three-Speed. We'll be sending a FWD shield to you today, but the
credit for that is all his. We'd like to know what we can offer to
help you reach your goals. Please email us with an updated list of
parts still needed for this project and we'll do our best to help with
what we can. Our wishes and prayers goes out to your entire family.

Best Regards,
Hung & Everyone from Extreme PSI

Hi,

Does anyone have a non-cruise throttle cable that they have laying around that they can part with? We need a throttle cable. Dig in your mounds of DSM parts and see if you can find us one. Thank you in advance.:hellyeah:

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

I have had a rough time deciding whether to post these pictures or not. Ok, here is the deal. The IC piping has blue couplers but they will be black. The blue ones are for mock up purposes only. Its kinda hard to get past the blue. You'll get the idea. The big brakes have been put on along with the coilovers. Waiting on the manifold to get to JNZ for ceramic coating. The manifold was donated by Forced Performance. Thank you Aniel!

I don't want to bring my bad Karma into such a productive thread and situation so i'll just say that's a sore spot with me and those people and myself were from here and the link forums not the other site which I won't reffer to.

Hi everyone,

I was just contacted by Hung at Extreme PSI. He is donating a Tial 38mm wastegate polished with stronger springs. Big thanks to those guys at Extreme PSI.:thumb:

Wendy started chemo again today and this time she is immediately sick. We just had enough time to get home and she is already down for the count. They have reduced the potency of the Topetican to see if she can handle it better. Wendys last 2 chemo sessions have landed her in the hopsital for a week. They are trying to prevent that this time. Im skeptical at this moment. Chemo tomorrow and Wednesday then we will see if this works. The doctors have changed her pain meds again to a patch with breakthrough Dilauded. The patches have already had to be doubled. Can she just catch a break?

All the things you guys and girls are doing is truly keeping her spirits up. I do travel to the shop and take pictures for her to see the progress. I know she wants to see the car in person but hasn't felt up to doing much of anything. Please keep her in your thoughts.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate
