Ive been planning on building a 400hp car for some time, i had a stock 90 gsx i did a little to as i bought parts for a new motor, well plans changed a little and i bought a 1993 gsx for 4400, i figured i would get up to the 4 bolt rear. and grab some good parts as well.

one question the catch can doesnt have a vacuum line
So the guy i bought the car from said it made 419hp and 346tq on 25psi, my original plan was 400, so the new plan is a reliable 500 and swap to auto. The parts it has at the moment

blocks ready to get built.
no head though the one i had was decked to far already.
so thats where im at now i plan to do all the normal up keep stuff fix the small oil leak.
likei said my fastest dsm before thing maybe had 250hp so i have alot to learn.
Really looking forward to feedback and some help.
ill finish up my plan and get it posted here in a day.
in the end i want 10s with the auto and make the 2014 shootout.

I would just lleave it alone and make the outside look good. Get some body work. Good start for sure.
 
Hotwiring a fuel pump to the alternator is normal. That way it gets the max ignition switch voltage available so you'll always have the juice to power your fuel pump.

It's rare that any good mechanical condition AWD DSM goes for under $3k in my area. Modded ones go for what the OP paid. Just depends how many of them are around, if their scarce their price goes up cause people still want them. If you wanted to buy a much cheaper stock one the price of all those parts he would need anyway would add up quick.
 
No paint is last really for me, I have all the engine parts mostly and with the green i should be able to make 500, yea I paid 4400$? The car has alot of parts I don't think 4400 is bad looking at other cars on here for sale, ya I didn't get a screaming deal by any means but he wanted 6500 I paid 4400 and with all the parts on it and a 4 bolt rear I liked the price, and I'm happy with my car.Oh and most of the body work has been done already, if money all works out good I want to paint next summer, but not my first priority.

small update haha, so about three years ago i bought a junk 90 tsi and was planning a 300hp car, LOL , plans changed i now have about 400hp on the stock block. So the other motor parts i have are not ment for 600hp.
going with a different head gasket and the MAP h11 head studs.
just moved so willl start updating the engine build soon.

Nice start I don't have a hp goal yet because once I buy parts I want to make sure its well planned from the get go. Ill paint last too.
 
So you took a picture of the head studs and gasket you aren't using? Got it. I was hoping you didn't buy those from someone in the classifieds as MAP H11's... LOL

like it said, small update haha, i just figured id show that im chnaging these parts because they are not enough for the hoursepower and boost i want in the end.
