ok so now my dipstick smells like GAS,the oil cap is milky and the oil is pretty runny... i checked to see if my injectors are leaking and nope... they are holding just fine... my APR reads good pressure and holds it for a while...(dosent drop fast)

one thing is i was stuck in traffic the other day and since im really dumb and dint hook up my rad fans yet my engine overheated on the way home... i parked it and the next day it would start but run for about 1 minute before it would just run like crap and die ( like if you had a giant boost leak ).... but oh wait...my battery was bad... now i got a good battery in there and it runs fine...pretty smooth and idles just right....but my oil still smells like gas,

i do have a catch can setup and maybe my crank pressure could cause too much blow by.... but i am unsure of that.

my catch can setup is: PCV valve eliminated and replaced with a nipple, -6 an line running to catch can and VC nipple on the CAS side is also running straight to catch can.... i have the JMfab deluxe catch can....decent size if you ask me. i know i should be getting vaccum into the pcv system but right now im not because i didnt do enough reading before installing my catch can...i regret it now and im gonna be going back to stock pcv setup or install a check valve

can the gas in my oil be from my catch can setup? im gonna do a compression check when i get my hands on a compression tester

also i tried lighting up my dipstick with a lighter and it did not burn.

i need advice....thanks in advance

head gasket is brand new ...with arp headstuds torqued to 95, head was rebuilt and shaved not even 800km ago...

hoping its not the rings.... would a compression test tell me exactly? any thoughts on my catch can setup??

and why would you doubt the HG that fast? also the only things i can think of that would leak at the HG is oil or coolant no??? im pretty sure the car would not idle smooth if it was the HG too

I would be quick to doubt the head gasket if the oil smells like gas. It just sounds like major blowby and a leakdown test will help tell you the story.

Could've ran your car too rich, and washed out your rings. Basically the fuel isn't combusted, and runs down the cylinder walls, until the rings no longer seal. Do a compression test.

Milky oil means coolant is mixing with it somewhere. Head gasket is more than likely crap.

It just most likely seems like blowby by running rich or just crappy rings rather than a head gasket. Blowby contains water vapor as well. If it's not too rich the head has to come off either way to fix the ring problem.

because you clearly stated that you over heated pretty badly. Over heating+milky oil= blown HG in most cases. Doesnt matter when you put it on. Do a compression test and good luck to you.

That was great until you overheated it. As a result the head is now warped and either needs machined again or replaced.

Gas in your oil is a result of a shitty tune, bad fuel pressure regulator, or injectors that are grossly oversized for the amount of tuning compensation you're able to do (i.e.- trying to tune 850's with an AFC). I recommend finding and fixing this problem as soon as possible or you're going to end up washing the bearings and wiping out the entire low end.

this thread kinda helps me in a way. my battery is shot i have to jump my car to start it. But id say HG also it only takes one time of overheating to blow one. make sure all plugs are good to could have one not sparking like me or nota strong enough spark which can also make your oil smell like gas.

I just replaced my HG monday night. Compression was perfect, Idled fine, Did'nt overheat, Just pushed combustion gas into my overflow. Long story short...Cooling fan switch failed open. It sounds like you have some blow by. All oil smells a little like there is fuel mixed with it, You can send a sample out and have it tested.
