i have propabally come to one of the hardest decisions to make since i've joined the DSM world, as of right now i own a 1993 eagle talon TSi, and a 1992 Galant Vr4 145/1000. I need to git rid of one of them, do to a shortage on money, and i will be heading off to college soon so i have no need to own two cars.
i will explain a little about the cars, and hopefully you guys can help me out with which one i should keep.

Eagle Talon:talon:

The Good:
32k miles on the engine 105 on body
mechanically sound
Very clean no rust and very few minor dents

The Bad:
Auto transmission
needs tires and a front end allignment

Galant Vr4:dsm:

The Good:
Very hard to find
strong manuel transmission

The Bad:
rust, will need to be removed asap but, most of it is on parts that can be removed and replaced IE. Doors and hood
140k miles on engine and car, will need engine rebuild soon.

I know most of you will say it's my choice, but what would you do if you had to get rid of one of them?

Take the vr-4 for sure, it's easy to find another talon, but the vr-4's are much harder to come by and are worth more. Good luck with the decision

I agree completely. You can always get another 1g.

lets look at it realistically here.

1) You can keep the 1g, have more reliable car, to fix ANY problems you have currently it shouldnt cost more then what, 250. (Auto :( )

2) You can keep the GVR-4, have a less reliable car (At the moment), will be spending over 1500 fixing the problems. (Rare, 5speed, Gobs of fun / sleeper)

If you have the money, I would say take the GVR-4. If money is that serious of an issue, the best choice would be the 1g.

Honestly, I would take choice 2 no matter how broke I was. You could probably make most of the money spent on the gvr-4 off the talon anyways.:rocks: :thumb:

Or DO I like I did and put a VR-4 Motor in a talon!!! ;)

VR-4 for sure

the VR4 is a ugly ass 4 door shit car to most poeple that dont know what is under the hood of this thing. You will not get much money out of it if you sell it. IF your lucky you will find another DSMer that knows how great these cars are....but just like most of us hes going to be BROKE as hell and will just look at the car and tell you its great and walk off.

The talon hotter looking car. Many teens are willing to beg the living #### out of thier parents to get them one becasue they have the wing, the loud PSSST sound that they think is just becasue the motor is so powerful and its a SPORTS CAR. So in conclusion to this all, the Talon will make you the most money if you would go ahead and sell it. Put some of the profit to work out EVERY LITTLE BUG in the VR4 and then even after the repairs Im sure that you will have money left AND a really fun daily driver...just dont modify it becasue thats just going to ruin the reliablity factory that you will desperately need when in collage... GOod luck

I totally agree with FUSIONTALON. You will get more money from the talon, that you can use to get the V-r4 back into shape. Plus a v-r4 would be bad@$$ to own.

I've seen completely stock vr4's sell for $5000, so if the seller isn't retarded they can get more out of the vr4 than they could a dsm. You just have to sell it to the right person. Most people that own Vr4's are a little older than the average dsmer and can afford to spend the money.

ok i am in college now and let me say, a 4 door is better to have than a 2 door. Like you have more room in the vr4 for friends and stuff to bring to college and whatnot. Both are quick, but only one can seat 4.

VR4 man!! Like everybody has said your going to regret selling it if you do. Keep it, rebuild it, cut out the rust, w/e. Give her the TLC that she wants and you'll be glad you did!!

Having a 4 door in college isn't exactly a blessing. No one wants to have to waste gas and drive around all of their friends, espacially not in a V-r4. I had a 4 door last year. I am so glad I have my DSM now so that i don't have to drive everyone everywhere, but still the V-r4 gets my vote. Its just a sweet car. Just don't become the offical dd of the campus.
