I made custom solid welded motor mounts for my FWD 2G....

I did the driver side, cross member, rear, and tranny mount.

Im powered by a GT35R and I do not spin from a 1st gear roll @14-15psi

I get 0 wheel hop when I launch it, it still spins but hooks MUCH sooner

you can hardly tell the difference of vibration between the solid mounts and Prothanes

I left the rubber bushings inside so0o that I would not lose the position of the center shaft....I also left the rubber bushings in to absorb some of the energy

By the way the driver side and tranny mount are Aluminum

If anyone is interested in these PM me...I will make them....also mine are rough and ugly...I did 0 work to clean them up...i can have them sand blasted

I have not been to the track yet because I am waiting on my slicks....but I will keep everyone posted...lemme kno what yall think

That is a good idea and all, but I am not sure how long I can trust something like that. We came up with that idea about a month or two back to do pretty much exactly what you did to your mounts. Like I said, we just could not trust something like that for a lengthy period.

So this was our solution. We have only done the front and rear mounts on our 89 mirage and 89 colt.

Hah, that's what I'm currently trying to do with JMF with extra mounts that I picked up. If you don't mind me asking, what diameter aluminum stock did you use?

Wow those mf'rs are going to rattle. I have the front solid mount from howell and it rattles pretty bad as it is.

I can't figure out why none of these companies will make us solid urethane mounts. They make them for Evo's so why not for DSM's too? I just don't get it, I know I would buy a set.WTF

The ones that biglady posted have to be full inserts. I've also been toying around the idea of getting aluminum solid inserts from bar stock.

These inserts are pressed in. I would trust these over a weld on a FWD car any day.

These mounts are specific to the C52, C53, C62 and C63. The bushings may be the same, but the actualy mounts is specific to 1.6L and 1.5L cars.

The inserts measure 3 1/8" for the front insert and a slight bit over 2 1/2" for the rear. I mean just a hair.

These are solid aluminum. These bad boys only cost $40 for the set. We are hacing two more sets made for some friends.
