how come you didn't go the rest of the 1/4 mile???

you only went an 1/8th mile how come?

Some tracks are only an 1/8 mile. My local track is an 1/8 mile and is about 20 minutes away. The nearest 1/4 track is over an hour away. I usually go to the 1/8 to see if something I did made a difference and then when the car is running well I make the trek to the 1/4 track.

I hate that...they need to have more 1/4 tracks closer...

A whole lot of bench racing going on here. Here is the very simple point. 1/8 track sucks for a FWD with a BigT28. you will need slicks without a doubt or some kick butt drag radials. You should take it out to a 1/4 mile track and focus on your trap speeds. I guarantee you that on 21 pounds you will hit 108 mph to 110mph, which is good for 12's.

The reason I know this, is because when I had that car I raced several high 12 second cars and was always out ahead. Dont worry about the rest of the haters.

Good luck and keep us posted!

all of you keep going back and forth about faster trap speeds make faster E/T's, or faster 60ft.s make faster e/t's and trap speed doesn't matter.

Here is my opinion: Focus on you reaction time first, then your 60ft. It doesn't matter how fast you are going when you cross the line, what matters is who crosses first and who had a lower E/T. Watch NHRA drag racing, look at there reaction times, I can't even count how many times I have seen one driver win with a better reaction time, even when his opponent had higher trap speeds.

Reaction time has ABSOLUTELY no bearing on ET or trap speeds. Crossing first only matters in heads up racing where you are competing to win against another person. Most people here who go to the dragstrip are doing so on a test and tune night and are just after numbers. So sit there for 10 secs or 10 minutes and you will run the exact same time.

thats true  .. just take it to the track the only point i was trying to make is u cant base your 1/4 mile time of your trap speed.. u might as well go buy a g-tech and be a ricer WTF

Trap speed is a very good indication of power and potential. A low et with a low trap means there is some serious driving going on, look at my times 12.9@105. Measly trap speed with a decent ET.
