FWD CV-Axle Install

I never had so much trouble with something as simple as a cv axle before! I can get the new axle in about an inch into the tranny, but have about another inch and a half to go. Any tips on getting in the rest of the way?? Just feels like it wont go in anymore, had 2 people try and it wont budge.

Id tap on it lightly with a rubber mallet,but that's just me cause
Ive ran into the same problem and that's the one way i could get it in.
But before being impatient like me see what other choices you have

try turning the axle maybe? I am about to do the passenger side on my talon

well, got it in and everything put back together, but now the problem is way more serious unfortunately. Drove it down the road about 2 blocks, everything was fine, then all of a sudden i got a "clunk clunk" and the car wouldnt move. Pushed it back and there were 3 bearings under the car that it spit out.......I'm thinking my SBR LSD insert broke inside my tranny and just gave me more trouble then I thought I was in. Time to rip out the engine and tranny.....yippie

ahh man. thats terrible. was the axle still connected? a while ago, my axle kept popping out. then i noticed the cross member was bent. i replaced it and after 2 mounths my axle snapped where to big nut screws on. i know how you feel man.
