Fuel rain an fitting sizes

I have purchased an FIC fuel rail. The female fittings into each ends of the fuel rail are 8an. Currently there is a -10 and a -6 an adaptor on each end that can be used for inlet or outlet.

Now, i plan on doing a -6 an inline fuel filter and take -6 lines to the rail, The AFPR is also -6.

Now, it make sense to me that i just run -6 lines and fitting all thoughout and just adapt the larger bore at the fuel rail from 6 in to 8 the back to 6 out and continue 6 thoughout.

I am hoping i am just misled by the larger and stagard sizes they offer, but my question is; is there any benifit/purpose to a larger hose on either side of the fuel rail.

This is just on a mild fuel system, walbro 255, lines, 650cc, AFPR and the rail, just supporting maybe 320 on a EVO316g.

If you would like to upgrade your turbo in the future, I suggest 8AN and 6 for the return line. I been using 8 from the filter to the rail and 6 from the rail to the return line. I am not planning on going bigger, but how to know,, may be later change my mind.

I run a FP3586HTA with FIC 1250cc's and a FIC rail. I use a -6 feed and a -6 return with no problems. If you are not running a MONSTER fuel system -6 will be more then enouph for you.

I'd say return/sell the fuel rail (unless you just want it for looks) as the stock fuel rail is more than enough for your goals.

If you plan on not putting down decent horsepower, just stick with the -6AN lines.

IIRC you wouldnt even need upgraded fuel lines for that small of a demand for fuel. If you are going to be using E85+ or trying to support higher numbers then upgrade. Also as Brian said, the stock fuel rail will support anything you can throw at it until your considering what, 700+hp.

You are correct Scott. Also, the stock fuel line is very close to a -6AN fuel line, so it's not really much of an upgrade in fuel flow (more visual than anything).

i actually picked up the fuel rail cause it was actually cheaper used then picking up the infamously not so great fuel rail adaptors. Puts a nice bling factor in too.

Now i dont see a reason to upgrade to e85 yet, but its been on the backburner with the switch off as an idea.

If people are running -10AN lines, they'll have a pretty serious pump setup.
