Hey all I am running a fp big t28 with a 190 walbro 650cc injectors, i don't plan on running more than 19 lbs boost off the turbo does anyone know if it is even necessary to do the rewire on the fuel pump? Is it even worth my time or should I be find the way I am now?

You should do the rewire although I don't think you will hit fuel cut. You can always try it. if you hit cut you may have to rewire

Fuel cut has nothing to do with fuel other than the ECU stops providing it. Please don't misinform. Fuel cut is when the ECU thinks your WGA failed, boost is out of control, and are flowing too much air. If it detects too much airflow, it cuts fuel ("fuel cut") and spark to keep you from wrecking your motor.

OP: Folks claim that you can take the rewired 190 to 400hp, and I doubt you're very close to that at 19psi on an FPB28, so you might not need the rewire, but I'm certainly not positive. If you're pulling the pump, it's pretty easy to do the rewire; the pain in the arse part is doing all the wiring sitting in the damned back seat which you could do on a workbench while swapping the pump. The rest is cake. Unless you're strapped for time, just rewire it. The parts are pocket change.

I agree with the above post. I don't know the airflow numbers on the FP 28 but I don't think it's gonna over flow the airmeter at 19psi. For the couple bucks and small amount of time it takes to run a wire from the front of the car to the back I'd say just do it

Since he's running 650s, he's gotta either go SAFC, DSMLink or some other piggyback or ECU. If he's going SAFC, he's gonna have to trim way back with the large injectors, and that decreases the airflow the ECU sees, so he'll be even farther from fuel cut than with stock injectors. If he goes link, ecu+ or other, fuel cut goes away.

The FPB28 flows a bit less than an evo3b16g. Folks seem to be able to run the evos at 20psi on 190s, but I'd do a search or PM someone with that setup to find out for sure.

I don't have the bookmark on this computer, but if someone can provide the Rakton (or something like that) 2g rewire article, I think you should atleast read through it to see how easy and cheap it is to do. It's 5 pages, fully illustrated. Then you can decide if you wanna do the rewire. Having the pump out of the car makes the hardest parts easy, so doing it then makes sense to me. That's my .02.;)

i already know how to rewire it, i found that article already on vfaq, i'm just debating whether it's worth it or not, becuz if i can get away without doin it than i'm not gonna worry about it. i've done the rewire on a 255 walbro before so it's no big deal.
