I've been looking into all of the rewiring ways to do actually rewire your fuel pump. Then I came up with my own, Which also would work as a anti-theft device. I was just wondering if any of you would have some thing to say to make it for useful or more efficient. Please keep your smart a$$ comments to your self. If your are to say something make it constructive and meaningful.Any constructive criticism would be gladly accepted.

That plan is just fine. Personally I just ordered the STM kit for convenience. I also don't want a manual fuel pump switch in the car because it's just not clean. For a single pump, 10 gauge is more than enough.

Not trying to knock you but where I'm from if they are in your car already all they want is your cd's, stereo, and anything else they can trade for drugs. It would be an idea to hide the switch under the dash if vehicle theft is a problem in your area. I think I would still want a relay in the loop in case I would forget to flip the switch off. I could see getting up running late to work and click click battery dead.

1) Use a 30 amp capacity relay. The amount of current switching on/off each time you turn the switch (especially the initial inrush spike) will burn out the contacts of your switch after a short while.

2) Having to remember to switch it off every time will drive you nuts after just 1 resulting dead battery (not to mention the electrical short fire hazard there is all night long or gasoline forever pumping in a crash situation). Here is a way to have the fans on only while the engine is running. You could do something similiar for the FP. Normally fuel pressure should stay present for days when car is off. But if it isn't you could just keep the key in On position a few seconds before starting (since this circuit isn't active in Start position). And for anti-theft just put a switch in between relay's pin 86 and ground.

Of course you can eliminate all this by using your 10 gauge wire and one of the following: the stock FP relay, or your relay driven from the stock FP relay (which most of the "re-wire" articles do), or your relay & ignition switch FP wire.

Running a relay back at the fuel pump, using the stock wiring to trigger the relay, really isn't hard at all. I think the rewire took me 1 hour. I'm really picky about my soldering and used a liquid electrical sealant to seal everything. I also took my time routing the wires.

You'll get tired of the fuel pump switch.

Well, I guess that says it. The best way is just to do it with a rewiring kit with the relay. Well , I appreciate your input. Thank you very much .

It's so much easier to run a relay off the stock on/off wire and running a new power wire. It is insanely annoying to run a manual switch on a daily, it starts to look like an aircraft takeoff prep list just to start your car.
