fuel pump issues perhaps??

alright guys and gals, I'm having a small problem. I have a COMPLETELY STOCK, NEVER MODDED 1997 Eclipse Spyder GST with manual transmission just about to roll over 69K actual miles. In the mornings when I go to start my car, and it starts and stalls instantly. Turn it over the second time it stutters for a sec or two then dies....third time it usually starts up fine....is this going to be an fuel pump going bad? I changed the fuel filter back in the end of may, so don't believe it's a fuel filter issue. also, something else that just started about 2 months ago, is when the car first starts getting boost(under WOT or close to WOT), it stutters slightly like a boost leak. I have done a boost leak test, and found NOTHING.

I do not have a fuel pressure tester to test this. Any advice/help would be great. thanks!!!

I forgot to mention the check engine light is on from the fuel pressure solenoid

I would replace the fuel pressure solenoid

The fuel pressure solenoid closes off vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator when the car is starting. This allows more fuel for the car upon initial startup.

If you keep your foot on the gas, will the car stay running? If so, I would change that solenoid and I bet you'll be in good shape. If it wont stay running with your foot on the gas, then there is another issue.

I tried the foot on the gas once, and it started better, but not prefectly. I'll give it a shot..have to see if the dodge dealer can order one(unfortunately the mits dealer is over 2 hours away :/) thanks
