hey i have a 96 tsi fwd and i have been trying to figure out the issue with it. when i hit boost and i start to get on it the car will studdar or jerk. only when i get on it and the turbo kicks in. i put in some gumout fuel system cleaner and it made it alot better, but not fixed permanently, only until it ran it all through the system. same thing happens when i put seafoam in it. i replaced the injectors with rc racing 550 cc ones and also put a new fuel filter on it. nothing changed when i did these. So my final evaluation is that i need a new fuel pump. there arent any boost leaks and the fuel cleaner results lead me to believe that its my fuel pump. if someone has had the same issue as me, or knows something i may not, please dont hesitate to reply. the fuel pump i think i want is a walbro 255lph pump. what do u think? will this fix it?
also, will i need a tune after the new fuel injectors and pump? they are obviously more powerful than the stock setup. how could i tune it or where can i go to have it done?

If you put those injectors in without a way to tune it, you are running way rich. I would put the stock ones back in until you get dsmlink, a flashable ecu or a safc. Don't forget to get a wideband. Ate you sure that your studdering problem is a fuel issue? It could be a spark issue. What kind of turbo are running and at what boost level?

You won't be able to dial in injectors that are larger than stock (450cc) without link or another tuning device like stated above. The stock fuel pump shouldn't hit fuel cut with your setup, I would check the wiring to the pump and make sure there aren't any shorts. The wally 255hp is a great pump and when rewired, it has been proven to handle 500hp+ on e85. I would highly recommend getting link and a wideband if you haven't done so already.

The fuel pump has nothing to do with when you hit fuel cut. Fuel cut is determined by measured airflow and the ECU's programming; not your fuel system.

If you are experiencing true fuel cut, it's because the ECU is shutting off the injectors when it thinks you are flowing too much air for the fuel system to handle.

I suppose I could have worded that better. Thank you for the correction.
