Fuel Problem

I am leaking fuel somewhere and I've narrowed it down to either leaking from the injectors or the pump itself possibly being improperly installed (previous owner). Question is: what do i look for on the pump? Anyone have a pic of a properly installed fuel pump? It takes me about 3 tries to crank the car because of the air in the fuel system. Makes no difference with full tank. Thanks for any help

Can you actually smell fuel when you have the car running/driving? if it was leaking from your injectors to be a noticeable amount you would see where the fuel was coming from the injectors, doesnt mean you would see a wet puddle. Pretty much same as the fuel pump, take the cover plate off and look at the lines, make sure they are fastened correctly and that they dont have any splits.

Sure you don't have a leaky fuel pressure regulator which doesn't keep pressure in the fuel rail?

my guess is when you put the pump in there is a gasket it slides into if i remeber right and if it gets pinched it will cause it to leak and the symptoms of ## car sound like a leak somewere.

Yeah i will pull the pump out tom and check it out. How would i test the fpr? There's no leak from the rail anywhere. Thanks for the help

Alright so i pulled the pump out and took a look. SOB previous owner put the pump in with the o-ring in there ####-eyed causing me to leak fuel. Lubed it up and reinstalled, cranks 1st try now. Problem solved
