fuel pressure test

Ok I know this is a newbie question but how do you check the fuel pressure. I have searched. What do you have to buy, is there a special banjo bolt that you have to but to place on the fuel filter so you can hook a fuel pressure gage to it. In the shop manual it says you have to buy a special set of adapters from mitsu and they connect it in line to the inlet to the fuel rail. How else can it be done?

Not 100% sure it's the same on 2g's, but for a 1g there is a bolt on the top of the filter. Unscrew it and screw in a gauge (you will need an adapter because the gauge threads are smaller than the hole). Ace or True Value should have it, or just get it with the gauge:

What year of eclipse do you have? On the 2G eclipses there is a scrader valve on the fuel line near the injectors. All you have to do is hook up the coupler valve from the gauge to the schrader valve.

I don't recall there ever being a Schrader valve on a 2G.

I was so befuddled by the Schrader valve that I didn't even notice.

That's the only thing I could think of too, but it's nowhere near a fuel line (at least on a 1G).
