1G Fuel Gauge and Temp Gauge Too High

• Running ECM Link V3
• The regulator on my old alternator was bad and the alternator was spiking up to 19.5 volts at times. I replaced it with a high output BNR alternator.
• With the new alternator, voltage from the battery is ~14v, consistently when running.
• Voltage from the B/W wire out of the ignition reads about 1v less than the voltage from the battery. Is this normal?
• My fuel gauge is now maxed out always. My temp gauge maxes out when the coolant gets over ~120F.

Anybody have any ideas what may be causing these issues? What would you check next?

What year/model/engine is this? Check if you have a short to ground (or sender is shorted) in the wire going to the fuel and temp senders which would make them read maximum.

Sounds like a grounding issue at the gauges. Measure from the gauges negative pin to ground. You will have to pull the dash to test D04 pin 1.

Also check that the alternator is well grounded. The case of the alternator and battery negative should be under .1v when the alternator is charging or resting.
