Okay guys so I recently replaced my wally 190 fuel pump with a Forced Performance 255lph pump (FP342), and now I'm experiencing stuttering and what almost seems like fuel cut as soon as my 20g starts to get to about 3/4 spool at wot. I notice that my WB starts to lean out and then the car starts to fall on its face and sputter. Also if I corner hard it cuts out too, and the car takes noticeably longer to start when cold.

So I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with my wiring? I am using the stock sending unit wiring with the FP harness spliced into it. Or maybe its because I am using the stock FPR? OR ???

I'm at a loss here and would really like to figure this out...
So any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also if any more info is needed or someone wants a log of it dont hesitate to ask.
Thanks,
Eric

Sounds like you might have torn the rubber o-ring that's located in the sending unit pickup (looks like a golden bell), where the pump slides in it. When that o-ring is torn, you lose fuel pressure quickly when you turn the car off. That's why it takes a few more cranks to start. Gotta build up the pressure back up within the system. If you forgot the o-ring altogether, that would explain why you run lean once you build boost.

Did you mess with the fuel pressure regulator at all in the engine? Vacuum line still connected to it? Measure the voltage on the power wire as close to the pump as possible, both at idle and at WOT, if possible. Could be low voltage causing your pump to not flow as much as it needs to.

I'd have to agree with Mike, you'll need to pull the pump out and make sure you have the o-ring and plastic holder on there still.

Wiring to the stock harness won't affect it that bad, the few other things I can think of are a clogged fuel filter and if you have an AFPR, it's adjusted properly?
