so i was browsing the dsmlink website and saw that they had a link to download V2 DSMLink (v2.5.2.27)
i downloaded it and opened it up and it seems to be the actual tuning program.
ive never used or even seen DSMlink in real life and i heard to get it its like 600 bucks. or is this something that is actually free right now. i dont want to do anything bad or anything. but if it is the actual program will someone let me know?

You need the eprom chip to go along with it along with the cable, anyone can download it to look at logs.

+1

I use V3 software with my V2.5, but it doesn't mean I actually have V3...

Soon enough though...soon enough *evil laugh*

If you can find someone selling it for less. I got my whole v2 setup for 280 shipped.. I just came onto a great deal

Yeah the deals are out there. I could of picked up a brand new v3 with socketed eprom for $300. I chose not to. Just cause of screw overs of purchasing an item with out looking at it in person. So i ended up paying $500 for a full v2.5 set up that i knew was working 100%.

That's the way to do it! I've passed up sooooo many good deals that probably were legit, but in the almost 10 years I've been tinkering with cars, I've never been ripped off.

I have spent thousand's of dollars on-line and only been burned twice. I figure that's not bad. I really like the new seller reps in the new classified's.

Got my whole Link setup for $400 off of a friend who is now using MegaSquirt. It includes the Eprom ECU, cable, disc, and chip. Plus I bought Jeff O's tach adapter for 91-94 ECUs in a 90, so $430 all together. :talon:
