DSMLINK v2 help?

Here is the story..I bought my gsx with dsmlink installed. I had to remove the battery so all my settings were changed and it now it runs bad. I plugged my laptop into the cable but nothing happens?

Sorry. I'm new at this, I was under the impression that it was already on just plug and play?
