FP Race manifold heat shield?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

I'm not interested in the blankets though, i've already done a good job of heat wrapping the manifold but now need to cover up the ugliness and add a little extra protection with an actual heat shield ;) thinking about bending some aluminum or something myself then just polishing it to give it that professional look.

It's from another member I just used the picture cause it shows the hole to possibly mount the heat shield.

I know it was another members picture, its my picture(iin my album). Its my 16g set up from last year.:thumb:

I really like those blankets though, didn't know they were on the market. I am sure if that company did a group buy it would be a success, how many of us have FP manifold, I would say at leas 75%. Not to mention the price is very competitive,

Thanks guys. Made it, and yes the top piece is riveted. I goes all the way down to the bottom of the turbine housing and wraps around the side by the o2 housing. I can take a better picture of it if anyone wants.

I'd also be interested. Seems like more and more people are looking for this exactly.

That is a nice shield but i look at it like this, metal ultimately transfers heat and the shield gets hot it's self, i want one of those blakets!!!! THat's the badd-ass-ness right there

^Stains on the cruise control?

Haha sorry guys but I wont be making these. Its not really a universal fit, I had to turn my dipstick tube a little bit and its something where you gotta do a little fitting and bending yourself to get it to fit nice.

But basically its held on by the 2 spots on the td05 turbine housing. The top one is a bolt and the lower one is a longer stud. Its not too hard to make yourself, just get a cereal box or some thinner cardboard and make a template and then copy that in aluminum.

Heres another picture I just took

Looks nice even still.

Interested to know where you got that sleeve for the dipstick tube...

Also, here's the newer heat blankets for the FP manifold, sold by Levi Lish. I love it:
