Can anybody give me an advice on if I can mate an hx35 to a fp manifold maybe using a dsm to t3 flange from ebay without water line issues? I probably gonna pass up on the sale because I can't afford a decent t3 turbo manifold ATM.

The other turbo I want to ask the same question is the PTE 6262 same set up on .63 ar dsm bolt on manifold.

You can use the adapter but its not easy. See what will happen is it will sit to far down and hit the block. An your downpipe is set at a certain place and the adapter is going to make it sit lower which will not line up with you downpipe.

The route I would take is using the bolt on bep housing. Plus if the cash is low and you go with the t3 housing it will have a vband which will need a custom downpipe or o2 housing. Not sure what turbo you have but my hx40 don't use water lines.

As far as the Pte turbo, unless you have the ball bearing, you could blow it. The journal bearing are notorious for failure. The oiling has to be perfect.

My HX-35 doesn't have coolant lines.

If you go T3, the .63 A/R is a waste IMO. It didn't perform much different than the .55 BEP over 25ish psi. I would just go with the bolt-on BEP housing or jump to the T3 .70 A/R Vband.

Well my goals right now is to replace my 16g turbo that has alot of shaft play. I want to make big power and do it the right way with alot of room to grow buying one part a time. I'm trying to pull myself together and buy a emclink, SD, wideband, boost gauge and injectors.

i think my injectors right now are mismatched surprised my car runs its my DD.

do you want to see my engine bay?

The HX definitely won't work without a Bullseye turbine housing. The FP manifold places the turbo in a stock location which is too close to the engine block. Even with a DSM-to-T3 adapter you're still going to run into this issue:

People have had good luck using the newer OBX manifolds. Maybe look into this to get you going until you can get something different.

orly?

got the manifold off today. Wastegate pipe is barely hanging on. Only one side that wasn't cracked. I'll take pics when i get a chance but the crack was just above the weld on the pipe itself. Not the actual weld.

why not go with a cast ERL manifold. tried and true

Is the stock HX35 turbine housing twinscroll?

Is the cracked manifold shown 321 or 304. I was suggesting the 321 built manifolds. Either way OP you plenty of options I was just offering an inexpensive one.

Or you could find a FP30/35 housing to put the turbo in and have it machined for your Hx35. Works perfectly for my 6 blade hx35/hx40 pro hybrid! :)

/\
One lucky bastard.

So at what point do some of you think when you make serious horsepower you feel like you're in a new ball game?

Here's my update, I think I'm gonna go for the hx35 w/ bep housing set up. just because it's atleast a couple hundred dollars cheaper to go that route. I don't know if I should and I can't help not to feel like I'm gonna miss out on airflow efficiency. I already bought the FP manifold so I'm thinking might aswell use it.

So if I go external wastegate to manifold wouldn't I have to get a recirculated piping weld to the other end of the WG or just go with open dump?

I read a thread saying that its basically the same thing as running an internal gated if you have the WG on your 02 it will still creep unless you port the turbine exhaust to a certain point. I guess I don't really have any options but go with wastegate on 02 housing. I did found a recirculated WG to manifold it's a DNP from extremepsi. The only thing I need to do is probably weld a bung for 02 sensor somewhere on the downpipe. That shouldn't be a problem right?

nice manifold but it's not a T3.

That ERL cast mani looks good to me. Iirc, its a t3. Or there are cast manis with gate ports built onto them, thatd be perfect, then you could use that housing you posted a link to.

jpmxrider: i assume you had a JB pte that failed? Or you have seen alot first hand? How old were they? How many miles? What condition was the oil feed/return? Please enlighten me so i know when my new pte will explode. Cause so far ive been running 30psi and pounding it with no problems.

The ERL manifold definitely looks very nice. I still might go for the DNP manifold just because it's recirculated wastegate setup. I can't believe they don't sell a T3 Vband 02 housing for HX35/HX40. That's just not right.
