FP Manifold question

Is it not common to tap the FP manifold for egt probe because I never see this in pictures. Is it worth doing. Post pics if yours is tapped.

Wouldn't worry to much about a egt guage if you have link. I never liked taping into my fp manifold its to pretty. Just my 2 cents.

Here is a tech article for installing an EGT gauge. It doesn't matter if it's an FP manifold, it installs the same. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-electrical-wiring/88370-greddy-egt-gauge-probe-install.html. It is worth doing if you want to see your exhaust gas temps. I think a wideband o2 is more important though.

I have link, but my manny now has the tap and gage in the car, I just kinda wanna keep it since its already there. FP manny will be going on soon.

Its on the #1 runner now, but Im changing to the fp manny and its the one thats going to need the tapping. Does anyone know the size to tap to, its a prosports gage.

Usually egt bungs are 1/8 inch.

Not sure if the prosport comes with the 1/8npt fitting tho. So I have heard.

Will I be able to reuse the probe?(like will it be a pain to take out of the manny) This looks like the one I have.

It would be best to have 4 of them, as one cylinder could go really lean and you might not ever know until its to late with just a wb, Personally, I feel just one probe is worthless. I had one on my car and It buried a 2000* gauge, oh well the car runs great and it still hasn't melted down. Anything you do to reduce the temps is going to cost you power, why even know what they are.

It should come out of the manifold without a problem but as with anything that involves exhaust there are no guarantees that the threads will be alright. Hopefully whoever installed it origionally used some anti-seize.
