Has anyone attempted this? i have searched and i saw a couple threads that show you how to rebuild a mitsu turbo and its pretty straight forward. so is this something i can do or do i HAVE to send it to FP?

Same as any other TD05H/TD06 rebuild.

The FP Green and Red are balanced as a rotating assembly, so you'll want to mark the alignment of the compressor wheel on the shaft.

It would be a good idea to use a rebuild kit with the wider thrust collar and two oiling holes in the thrust plate as the 50-trim compressor wheel is much heavier than your average TD05H wheel, putting added stress on the turbo's thrust system.

Thank you jusmx. where is a good place to buy the trust collar, o rings and anything else i may need?

upon closer inspection, i noticed that the exhaust housing has some cracks in it, can i use the same kind of mitsu exhaust housing or do i need something else?

You CAN rebuilt it but you DEF DEF DEF DEF NEED TO have it balanced by a pro. TRUST ME
Completely false.

If there's no wheel damage, rebalancing a turbo at the time of a rebuild is a waste of money. TRUST ME.

Kamak has good aftermarket turbo repair parts at reasonable prices; they even sell MHI turbo parts on their site:

KAMAK Turbo Rebuild Mitsubishi TD05H TD06 16G 18G 20G:eBay Motors (item 320389626607 end time Jul-26-09 00:32:32 PDT)

It will have to fit a TD06H turbine, and those housings are very rare. As long as it's not cracked through the housing where it would leak, it's not going to be a problem.

Again you cant argue with banks dude he makes some of the highest quality tubo systems in the world.

Can't really argue with the most renown turbo rebuilder on here who has probably built over 500 turbo's for dsm members alone, and if the turbo blows due to his fault, he'll honor his work.
