Found a small spring or something.

I just finished a cylinder head r and r and this was laying on my tool cart. No idea what it might be. Anybody recognize it?

Seriously tho, doesn’t look like anything I recognize from inside a DSM head. Is it possibly from inside a valve stem seal? Like a retainer to keep the seal firmly around the valve stem or guide?

With how small that spring is it would have to be like if there were springs inside of lifters. My guess is someone dropped it inside the head somehow. Either at the machine shop or previous owner while working on the car.

I don't even know if this is/ was a dsm part. I don't think so. It was on my tool cart.

to me it kind of looks like some sort of a PART of a power steering spring from inside the pump. I dont distinctly remember anything IN the head that looks like that.
