So I bought this Talon from a friend, and before he bought it the clutch was replaced. Well the issue at hand is intermittently in low gears you can try to punch the throttle and it feels like the clutch is slipping but you still gain rpm in a fashion that looks like the clutch is holding steady. Most of the time i can give her the chile and the car accelerates just fine. We were thinkin maybe a clutch for an N/A 4g63 was used or maybe they did not resurface the flywheel. Or could this be some other issue im not thinkin of?

if the clutch is slipping a fair amout or more, you will smell it, its rank

also if a new disk was used on a badly worn, heat/hard spotted fltwheel, it will chatter

have you noticed either of these things?

no the slave cylinder has not been replaced, and now that you mention it the clutch is pretty smooth all the time. No chatter or anything. Yeah i have smelled a slipping clutch. Not a very pretty smell haha! It's just weird, I can take off in say 2nd and it will get up and go but the very next time it "lags" as if the clutch were slipping.
