question for you fine people, i bought a 4g63t from a guy, exept he sent me a chevy computer, and he can not find the one that was originally in the car, he claims i can take it to a mitsubishi dealer ship and get it reflashed, and that it should work, is this true?

I really don't think so, never heard of it at least. You can buy a nt ecu for pretty cheap though. $50 or less.

definitely will not work. The pins on the ecu are entirely different for a gm vehicle and a dsm. But like the person before me stated, non-turbo ecu's are pretty cheap. I've got one if you need it. Picked it up by mistake. I paid $40 for it if you're interested.

Is this for a turbo swap? I'm just curious because you say you picked up a 4g63t but your profile says you have a N/T. If you need to get an ecu anyways for a 2g then it may be about the same price and significantly more useful to go to an evo8 ecu.

If he's putting a 4G63T in a 2G NT he's going to need a lot more than an ECU unless he's in Europe.

I'm fully aware, that is why I was curious what he was planning on doing. I had noticed that several people were mentioning N/T ecus which aren't helpful for a 4g63t (well they can be in a 1g) so I thought I'd throw out a suggestion that was more on track.

yeh, i bought a 4g63t engine with intentions of doing the swap. I also had the car that the engine came out of, so the swap was possible, only thing is the guy sent me the wrong ecu, he sent me one out of a camaro, the guy told me that as long as you take out the entire engine cradle, it should be a direct swap, only thing is that the breaks were different, space was an issue, AC lines were backwords, and some other stuff my mechanic was telling me about, so im just going to give him back his car for my money, and get a turbo kit for my 420a, thanks for all the replies, this was helpful in my decision!
