ECU Flash?

I just bought ECU Flash from dsm chips and I can't read the stock rom I keep getting error codes. I read some where that low voltage can cause it, so I hooked jumper cables to the beater with it running and still the same result. I have a 99 GSX. Thanks

Are you using an Openport 2.0 cable, with the flash connector or what?

I have the open port 2 cable and jeff at dsmchips told me I didn't need to use the other connectors that came in the kit. he said they were for wrx.

If you're only plugging the OP2.0 into the OBDII port and nothing else, that's your problem.

The flash connector plugs into the white port next to the OBDII port, and then into the OP2.0. You need this even to pull your ROM off, not just to flash one back on.

Thats fine. Just do your research and you'll be fine. If you're going to be tuning with ECUFlash, I highly recommend going on EvolutionM as well as here because the Evo guys have been using ECUFlash for a while. I don't think ECUFlash was even mentioned here anywhere when I started using it just a year or so ago, so I spent a lot of time there for a while. Tuning an Evo with it is pretty much the same as with a DSM.

Thanks. I used the flash connecter and it read it, then I saved and flashed. The car runs, but I still have to adjust it. I tried to log with evoscan and it would check dtc but if I tried to log it would lock up and I would have to close and restart evoscan. Any suggestions?

Make sure your settings are on Openport 2.0, Mitsubishi MUTIII, Select ECU = EFI, BaudRate=15625, Timeout ms=1000. Uncheck all the items that you don't want to log. What version of Evoscan are you using?

2.7 is what they sent me. I was using the dsm setting. I'll try that and see what happens. Is there a how to forum or tutorial on ecu flash.Thanks man

Yeah, you don't use the DSM setting, that's for the older ECU's such as the 95-96 and it logs really slow.

Read the thread on here and then do some searching on evolutionm.net

I haven't tried v 2.7 yet, I'm on 2.6.

I'm thinking of going SD also do you think I should before I start tuning or get it tuned then go SD? I have a GM/Maft now you think I should put the stock maf and tune then go to SD?
