ECU Flash question

Since this seems to be the only place I can post I'll try it here.
Does anyone know how to shut off the CEL for the FPS using ECU Flash? I tried looking for it in the periphery but none of the codes match up. If I can't figure it out I'm going to need to locate a FPS. The previous owner of my GSX bypassed it and removed it so now the CEL always stays on.

Try turning off Periphery 2, bits 15,14,13.

Think one of those should do it.

I don't have the FPS hooked up and never get a code, but I have all the emissions CELs turned off.

Thanks I'll give that a try tomorrow. I thought about just shutting them all off but then figured it may be a bad idea.

Solenoid Tests are Periphery2(292) bit 15


Make sure nothing can short out your FPS connector, as that can burn up the ecu's drivers. I put a piece of tape over my unused connectors.

Thanks for the information and all your help. I shut off 15,14,13 yesterday as you said and its been good. Took it for a decent ride last night and to work this morning. Off to try for an inspection now.

i really want to get my 98 gst flashed but i dont know how.it keeps saying that i have an invalid rom image. i am using ecuflash with an openport 2.0 cable\. can anyone help me out. thanks, GST-H

Which ROM image is it saying is invalid, the one you read from the ECU or the .hex or .bin file that you are trying to flash into the ECU? What ROM image are you working with?

To find the ROM ID, open the ROM file, chose the option to continue with the undefined file, then open the ROM ID section.
