Hello, I am quite new to tuning on DSMlink and as I'm getting to learn the software and how the car works with it I, (along with many users on here that have pointed out) my tune is strait dookie.
The guy I paid to do it actually had a decent reputation, but he did so many crap things in the tune. (side note: he also lied to me and told me that a flashing CEL under boost was a SHIFT LIGHT when I literally can go into link and see that it was a warning for knockret. If you live in the Jacksonville area do not get your car tuned by Sina Minachi who owns "MiniTunedLLC")

Anyway, he locked it in open loop mode, locked the front 02 sensor, for some reason my injector duty drops to zero when I let off throttle so the car jerks when you let off or on throttle (I assume due to fuel being ripped away and then shoved right back down its throat.)

Some other things: the idle is pretty bad it'll surge from 920-1050 quite often, and the AFR on my wideband goes from around 14.1-15.5 on a hot idle.

Probably worst of all though, it knocks pretty bad under boost. in the log I posted below, it goes all the way up to 4.5 deg of knock retard which aint good. Also, on multiple occasions I've had the CEL flash because it had exceeded 5 deg of knock.

So, any help with this would be greatly apricated. I am going to post a screen shot of my mods as well because for some reason every time I try to upload my mods on this site, it never saves.

Thank you to anyone who could give me some good pointers.

Yikes man. Sorry to hear about your "tuner". I just looked at your log and "tune". I would most definitely start from scratch. You can find the link file here - http://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/v3configs

Since you don't have many mods yet, I would recommend that you input your injector data and just keep reading and taking your time and try to tune the car yourself. Since all you have so far is bigger injectors, it should be pretty easy to get started.

The ECU is intended to cut the injectors off when the throttle closes (all the way) on decel. DSMLink does have adjustments for coasting fuel cut but I suspect you would be better off resetting everything and starting over with the basics set for your configuration and go from there rather than trying to save anything from what's been done before.

Also make sure that all the mechanical issues have been resolved before attempting any tuning. All the setting are saved in the log so you can put they aside and restore if you find something later of value.

EVO 3 injectors don't seem big enough for a 20g, do you know for sure what size they are?

Lastly, please put all that information in a profile for this car and post some pictures under the hood so we can see what's what.

I’m fairly certain they are Evo 3 injectors, at least that’s what the guy who I bought it from said, the car does have a lot of turbo lag with them though. As for my profile. I’ve tried and completely done the whole thing like 2 or 3 times now and it just never saves. So I don’t know what that’s all about.

I’m fairly certain they are Evo 3 injectors,
You want to be 100% certain what size injectors they are. Dialing in the injectors is a major part of tuning. Ideally, you want 80% max injector duty cycle when you’re at wot to give you some room if it ever overboosts. It will still run at 100% injduty but you’re running out of injector/fuel. If you’re unsure, take a pic and post new thread.

You still haven’t logged and display what I told you previously so I assume the wb isn’t wired in either and none of the other mechanical items have been checked??? YOU MUST DO THIS BEFORE PUNCHING AWAY AT THE LAPTOP.

What do you mean by “You still haven’t logged and display what I told you previously?” I did do what you said I unlocked 02 voltage and took it out of open loop lock if that’s what you’re referring to. And no my wideband isn’t wired into the ecu itself but does it really need to be? I can still see AFR with it LOL

That's great you're the only one that can see your WB. Good luck man!

Lots of things wrong here.
"Fairly certain" won't cut it. Post a pic and at least we can make some educated guesses instead of complete guesses. All else fails pull them and have them flowed.
Turbo lag has nothing to do with what injectors you have.
Yes wideband should be wired to ecu so that you can log it and use it as a tuning tool instead of just some shiny widget installed in the car.
Are you sure you have a 20g? Post some pics.

Alright well I guess I’ve got some things to do before hand. Just now finding out about this checklist beforehand so I’ll get to it.

Can you back off that turbo a bit?
And are those pink injectors?

Sorry pic kinda bad was hard getting a good angle. But it is 100% a 20g I see it stamped in the turbo.

Sorry the turbo pic was supposed to capture where it says “20g” stamped into it. And the injectors are an orange color here is a better picture

Sorry man I had never clicked that link, when we were chatting then a few days ago I was at work on my phone and didn’t have much reception so I never got around to it. I’m gonna go verify everything stated and return in a few days with everything done and documented.

Didn’t mean to piss anyone off. Something that may seem obvious to y’all is foreign to me completely. I’ve worked on cars for years but I’ve always just been a parts swapper so this is an entirely new aspect for me.

If that says INP-401 on the side then they are 560cc injectors. It will say MDL 560 on the other side.
I will verify soon. I’m going to go through the mechanical process of making sure the car is ready for tuning, I’m gonna wire in the wideband and verify the numbers on the injectors so that I know for sure.

I realize it says 20g but that stamping is indicative of a chinese knockoff turbo. I would like to see the entire housing and the entire plate.

Ok here’s a good pic, I looked up the part number its from a company called "cxracing" located in CA

That would be a Chinese knockoff turbo. Itll do. But I wouldn't expect the best results out of it.

Damn that stinks. Oh well. It’s still in decent health from what I can tell. Spins very smoothly and has no play, so I guess I’ll ride it for a while. Made 330whp on 19psi even with its crap tune so it’s aight I guess.

It also looks to have a pipe welded to it where it was a bolt flange? It appears to be a 16g compressor housing.

Are you talking about the jpipe coming off of the housing? It’s not welded I actually have it off right now making a new gasket LOL. It had a small boost leak from there

I just realized that's what it is. Yes that's definately a 16g housing then. May be a 20g wheel but still, that is a knockoff hybrid chinese turbo.

Well should I look at getting another one? It still is in good health but if it’s dangerous I don’t wanna run it and risk metal being thrown into my engine LOL

If it make boost, use it. I would not replace it until you max out its potential.
It boosts great punches hard and fast I think I’ve seen it peak just above 20psi on my gauge but I don’t go past 6500rpm most of the time so I haven’t seen it’s full potential.
