I searched and couldn't find what i was looking for. Right now I'm using a safc2 and i will be purchasing the dsmlink v3.... i'm assuming that im gunna have to take the safc2 out of the car. And how hard is it to tune with if you have no idea what your doing.

Just want to get these questions answerd becuase i'll be getting the dsmlink in about a week or 2.

THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS.

Yes, you will need to take out the safc2. As far as the tuning of dsmlink it will be a learning process from beginning till end. It will be shipped with baseline settings so your car will run properly. There are a lot of things you can do with it. Join the forums on ecmtuning/dsmlink and ask questions and read all tuning guides and you will be good. If you aren't comfortable after reading, take it to a reputable shop.

Just take your AFC out. As for tuning its really not that bad just jump on the forums and read and read some more. Then go to here DSMlink MAS/MAF Calibration Page and read it then read it again. Then ask your ?'s.:D

Take out the safc and use the money to buy one of those cheap laptops on ebay (if you don't have one already). As far as tuning goes the chip will come set for whatever injectors and mas you have (you have to specify when you order) then you'll need to dial it in more.
Reading the manual couple of times will help a lot and then you can start by reading dsmwiki to get more familiar with it and learn some tricks.

One of the best parts about buying DSMLink is the access you get to the DSMLink forums. You can find answers there to just about any question you have. It's not hard to learn how to tune, but you need to be patient and take the time to learn. If you just go out and start messing around with sliders without knowing what they do, well then you're in trouble.

The new V3 has load based adjustments for both timing & fuel maps, while this is an awsome feature to alow a better tune (more like a stand alone system), it will also be abit more confusing for first time users. Now the good thing is they still have the old slider, rpm based system so you don't even have to look at the new load based maps until you get more fermiliar with using the program & tuning in general.

DSMLink is a great system for a first time tuner, I (as well as many of my buddies) had never tuned before DSMLink & had no issues picking it up. Its an extremely user friendly system, which most pick up pretty quickly & if you do have any issues the support form is great.
