^^^ That would be the mdp. Manifold differential pressure sensor, for checking egr operation.

Okay then what is the lillte black box on the top ove the Intake manifold on the 2G's
First page of the Major Enhancements thread bullet point #10 under "As Definite as you can Get" section![]()
I'm most interested in getting additional external inputs as continually swapping BTW MAP and WBO2 on my one input (EGR-T) got old along time ago
Maybe some support on the later models, like mine?
...unless i'm again behind in the times and i'm already supported by dsmlink. ;X
Now will V3 cost more to buy from scratch then V2? I am kind of waiting for V3 because if I get V2 I will need to spend 200 bucks on a MAFT.
If you're overflowing the 2G MAF, DSMLink provides you some way to get around that. Now will V3 cost more to buy from scratch then V2? I am kind of waiting for V3 because if I get V2 I will need to spend 200 bucks on a MAFT.
You'd want that anyway. DSMLink gives you more a more precise way to calibrate airflow.Don't forget when using the maft setup with V2 your going to want to have a WBo2 or map sensor to calibrate it correctly.
Well I know I purchased a MAFT before the DSMLink. And I never intended it use it to "tune" it was mostly so I could set it up in a blow through style. The MAFT does flow better after all.
The MAFT in conjuction with the DSMLink though is pretty good IMHO.
I doubt they will get it perfect, but I will be nice to get rid of the translator.
I'm sure they won't have any trouble getting it perfect, it's a pretty simple procedure. I'm really surprised the translator wasn't able to get it right.
It flows less restrictively, and has the ability to read airflow into the 3400hz range before needing to be clamped though dsmlink (apposed to the 2700hz range of the 2g maf). I definitly wouldn't say it flows "better" then the 2g maf becasue it does require a good bit of calibration. I'm a little off topic here with my point, I agree with you that the MAFT/Dsmlink combo is nice, but without Dsmink I think its a POS.
The stock 2G maf can definitely read over 2700hz..where did you get that from?. I have numerous logs going into the 3000hz range. Stock UNHACKED 2G maf. Trapping over 125mph in the 1/4 with dsmlink, stock mas.
I would wire in a EVO mas, before I put in those GM mafs. Evo MAS can read over 60/lb min
It's never going to be perfect. Every GM MAF is different. Some vary by a large percentage.
You are still going to have to use a 3bar/5bar map sensor and adjust the airflow tables to get it dead on., but at least you wont need that translator box
I wonder how Gm was able to do it?
