I guess that's just another reason to avoid going with the GM maf. I've done this with Fords and there was never a problem getting the calibration correct, it was just a matter of entering the data from a spec sheet into the software and that was it. Maybe we should be trying something other than the GM units.

The GM MAS is a piece of crap pure and simple, they are totally unstable in readings and the values you get from one mas to the other can differ by up to 20%.

Most of the Chevy guys myself included swapped out the stock MAS for a SLP or Granatelli mas which not only flows better and is quite a bit more durable they also read allot more true.

By just tossing in a SLP MAS in my old FireHawk I was able to fix the 5800rpm shutter that plagues most of the late 90's early 00' f-bodys.

Lots of people have made over 500hp with the 2g maf, and up to 600 with an Evo maf.

Yes it will definitly flow more then that, it just wont count it. 2700hz is the limitation of the Stock 2g MAF.
I agree the EVO MAF > GM MAF :thumb:

I dont think you understood me the first time? I said that the 2G mas can read well over 2700hz.

I have numerous Link logs to prove this. However; I can say that the limit of the stock mas is closer to 3000hz.

Scott, TD is talking about the "Fake Mas" feature and enabling at 2700hz as that is the point where some 2g mafs start to miss counts. Plenty of people have logged more that that w/o sign of overrun.

As for a gm sensor being off from another, that really doesn't matter unless you are trying to copy a tune from a different car. The MAF will have to be dialed in on your car anyways. I know some a all about the evo mafs, but you hasve to dial them in as well, so I don't see them as being superior, especially with all of the wire splicing.
The thing that kills me is all of the people that run tranlators and arn't anywhere near the limits of a 2g mas.
