First time I've seen fender flares on a 2g

AJ, what offset are those Enkeis? And as others have asked, any idea what application the flares were originally meant for, or were they universal? Do you have a side shot so we can see the curvature of the arches?

The offset are +15 all around. As far the flares go, they were just the universal flares from ebay. Measure your wheelwells first before buying any flares though. The wheelwell for the 2gs are really big so the flares that i got were to small, so i had to cut it and fill in the gap. If i get the shape that i want out of my flares i might try to some copies if i can. Im just a "regular joe" and not an expert on these. So if i get good enough, i will definitely make some copies.

I will try to get some side shots.

Is that why they have the somewhat square shape, from cutting and filling in? I have also sent a pm to Cfeclipse on here. He makes carbonfiber and fiberglass parts for our cars. If you guys pm him also, he might see the interest and consider making some for our cars? Hell, he's already made cf front fenders for the 2g and has the mold.....he may even be able to make a complete bolt on replacement front fender with the flare integrated and then we would only have to trim and bolt on the rears??? Now THAT would be dope!!!

ajstrinidad...your car looks awesome!! I also think it looks so damn good because the car is black so it all flows together. On the other hand it may look good on all different color dsm just as long as the wheels are black as well.

I like em. If I'm ever rich enough for rims m tires big enough I'd do it.

Hi everyone, my name is Allen and I own the car that you guys are talking about. I have been a "lurker" :) on this forum for a long time now. I have been using my friends account to browse the forums and get some ideas. I "semi" customized those flares on the car myself. Those pictures of the flares on facebook and nasoic are about 90% done. I painted them with plasti dip temporarily because my friend wanted me to bring my car to one of the car meets in my area(wheels and meals). I am in the process of painting my car and shaping the flares right now (more arch on the flares and finish off the section where the gas tank door is located).

I just started working on my car again and these flares and rims are the most recent project that I have done.

Anyway, Thank you for all the kind comments.

The tire/wheel specs are Enkei Rpf1s 18x10.5 wrapped in Hankook RS3 265/35/18

The pictures attached are some of the old pictures that I took.

Hey BRO Amazing work!!

COMMUNITY HELP ME HERE!! bro if you send me your Flares i can give you one free Carbon set.... so i can make the mold and sell them to everybody!!!

:hellyeah:

didnt someone already link to CF fender flares though?

The problem with those is we don't know yet if they will fit they size of the arch on the 2g.

Felix, if he was to send them, could you clean up the "squareness", and make them fit the stock 2g lines a little nicer?

The ones in the picture are ebay universal though customized for the dsm by him.

Yes, but if you read, the owner had to cut them and fill about 3" in with fg in the middle because they were too small. That's why they have a squarish look. I've been in contact with him and have asked many questions and I'm also the one that contacted Felix and directed him to this thread and the others, as I knew if anyone could make a complete bolt on set for us, he could..

In that case.....:thumb: if he could do a more flush look that would be awesome, i really don't like the bolt holes, too "off roadie" for me.

Looks pretty cool. How wide were the flares you got? Look maybe a tad too wide, but nice idea:thumb:

Hmm, a set of these would certainly make my ESP car look a lot less ratty ! I have to look into arching the rears as we are now bottoming out the tyre on the rear arch lip, and at 285/30.18 there's no way on earth the rear arch can be pulled out to clear it.. Time to get all Mk II Escort on the rears :)

Rear overfenders are extemely common in the s-chassis community. You simply cut the shape you want with a sawzall, then use sheetmetal to weld the inner fender back to the new fender line. Cover it up with a flare, and boom, more suspension travel and wheel fitment possibilities.
