Hey guys! I'm proud to say I've traded my 2G NT For a '91 Eclipse GSX. 115K on it.

Only things done: 2.5" cat-back. Literally stock and unmolested other than that!

I've never had a turbo, not sure what an s-afc is, or smic, etc. I've just done a lot of work to the N/T's.

To start, it's an auto :(

The auto's come with 180HP, and the manuals I believe are 190-195. This difference is because of the smaller fuel injectors, right?

Anyway, right now my goal is 220 horsepower.

I've thought of a manual boost controller and boost gauge. Aftermarket intake. Also I hear the upper intercooler piping should be replaced. I'll probably put some 440CC's in here because I don't plan on going past 250hp on a stock lower-end, and even then I don't plan to abuse the car.

Is there anything else I can do to help me get to 220? I'll dyno this baby just so I can see the exactly what the gains are, and the actual before & after horsepower.

Thanks guys!!

Sean

By the way, I hear that the auto's came with smaller turbos. I've searched about this, but I can't find the facts. What type of turbo came in the 1G auto's? What about the 1g manuals?

Is it worth it to swap the turbo with one that came out of a manual?

1g autos came with a 13g, the manuals came with a 14b. I believe the 13g has td04 on the compressor cover and 14b have td05 on the compressor cover. Id put the 450cc manual injectors and a 14b on it and you will notice a pretty big difference. You can also search "blue wire mod" Its a mod you can do to the auto trannys that helps shifting.

Good Luck

Just get a full upper intercooler pipe from Dejon Powerhouse, a hard intake pipe with open K&N filter, the 5-spd 450cc injectors and a 14b turbo and you'll hit about 250 with NO PROBLEMS.

Oh and a manual boost controller set to 15psi.

MAITENENCE FIRST! As stated above, if you dont know when the timing belt was changed, CHANGE IT. Change all the fluids, spark plug wires, plugs, oil, coolant, transfer case, and rear diff fluids, pads and rotors. Then start modding. You will probably spend 1000 bucks on all that stuff alone if you get decent fluids and and nice parts. Also want to check for any leaks anywhere as well.

I would also do a compression test and leak down test if possible. Want to make sure your motor is healthy.

Mods to have completed for 220 to 250. As stated above, i would opt for the 14b turbo and 450 cc injectors. Upgrade you stock intercooler piping to hard piping. Add a boost controller and gauge. And most importantly, buy a pocketlogger to datalog your car to make sure its not knocking, pulling timing, measure boost, and everything else.

Thats about another 1k.
