i just bought a 95 gsx a few days ago and i have a feeling something is wrong with my clutch. its just that when i shift into first to go, i have to shift into second gear in like 3 seconds because im barely going past 10 mph and almost revving up to 4000. Anything wrong? how fast can first gear go? how about the other gears?

thanks in advance.. :dsm:

yea it looks like your clutch is worn go take it to a shop and have them look at it or if your mechnically inclined look at it yourself.

is it slow to accelrate while rpms skyrocket thats a sign of clutch wearout

Gears can't slip. They're intermeshed metal cogs. Only clutches can slip, and if you're slipping in first you're either doing something dreadfully wrong with that pedal, have engagement issues (after all this time, you should just marry her), or something else is just "wrong with this picture".
Slipping usually starts in the higher gears, where loads overcome the clutch's friction capabilities.

ya thats really odd slipping in first and not 2nd or 3rd LOL ussually it'll slip in like 3rd on up cause theres more boost like defiant said

More boost, more air resistance, greater road resistance and yes, more boost- combine that with the greater loading, and the clutch is more liable to slip than in first.
