Hello Everyone,

I'm in the process of cleaning up the engine bay and wanted to update/replace the faded the firewall vin plate.

I've already tried messaging 2 people that were mentioned in other threads

Looking for any direction to get this.

Thanks again.

**EDIT** I can't read. Just realized the thread says FIREWALL. Oh well, i'll leave this here anyway : P

I made my own about 5 years ago when I replaced my cracked dash with another one. I had forgot to swap the VIN plate over so I made one. It's passed inspection multiple times, and it's not even that good. I literally grabbed a piece of aluminum from home depot and a stamp kit off of amazon, made a shitty little jig and eye-ball stamped the numbers in. Again, it's passed inspection by multiple state agencies and insurance companies, no one even looks twice. And the original ones are black ROFL

I'll find some pics and video of me making it later today.

I was wonder about this when I watched your dash video. Good job Erik 👍. These guys are looking for the firewall tag

Here in KS they look at the rivets and mark them as roseta or whatever they are on the inspection sheet. IDK if they really take any notice if they aren't but every car I bring in from another state, I have to have inspected so I have seen the Sheriff's do it more than once.
Good for you Erik ! ROFL

That’s crazy. Here, if your lights and blinkers work then they slap a brake tag on it no problem. They write then vin in their book, but only get it from your registration paper. And actually, once I get the eclipse thru that process once, it will be antique and won’t need another one again.

When I lived in MS, if you had $5 you could get a sticker on anything. Since then they have just abandoned the whole process and you didn’t even need a sticker now.

What's his info? Link?
