Nice carnage. That almost looks like something was ejected from the block right at where the driver would be behind the firewall, yikes.

It would be a nice time to put a 6 bolt in, if you have dsmlink it will be easier. If you go 7-bolt get the 98+ with the split-thrust bearing that supposedly is less prone to walking

That sucks!!! Looks just like what my old 1g 7bolt did. Good luck with motor swap!

Why did you cut the wire off your knock sensor???

I vote seven bolt. Each engine has their advantages and both will make the same amount of power. So why not stick with what your car was originally set up for?

If your going to build it, go 6 bolt. If it's staying stock might as well stick with a 7 bolt.

:thumb: on that suggestion. Find a 99 7bolt block. It uses the same thrust bearing setup as the EVO VIII's and IX's do. Keep to what your car is setup to run from the factory and also enjoy not worrying about crankwalkin away ROFL

thanks guys i think im gunna rebuild a 6 bolt. oh and the knock sensor i was just stupid and forgot to unplug it haha.
