Few External Wastegate Questions

My first question is it worth porting out the wastegate hole on the exhaust manifold? I could open it up maybe a 1/8" on the 2 flat sides but wasn't sure it's worth dragging out the compressor??

My second question is with an o2 housing with a sealed wastegate hole is it still necessary to weld the flapper door shut? I'm assuming its going to put extra stress on the gasket because the flapper will still blow open a tiny bit.?

i'd tack the flapper.

1st. Porting the hole bigger won't do anything unless you're really pushing the waste gate you have to the point that it would need upgraded which is highly doubtful.


2nd. I would push the flapper closed and put on tack on the arm just to make sure it is not leaking, then if you ever want to go back to internal gate you can just grind the tiny weld off.
