I went through the entire 2G engine bay Electrical Connection tech article and there are two things I did not see in there, of course Im wondering about both.

First is this. It's coming from the main harness under the fuse box on the passenger side. There are three wires connecting to it. Two black w/white and one light blue w/black. Any ideas?

Next is this. This comes from the harness on the firewall. It's right in the area of the brake fluid reservoir area, it has the same plug style as well. Two wires connecting to it, one red and one light green w/black. Any ideas?

One more question... The Capacitor(noise condenser)As seen here is just an empty plug on my car. In the tech article I see it has a 'noise filter' of some sort grounded. Is this needed?

I found this in the tech article. You can see the plug in this pic resting on the intake manifold.

Solution
The first picture is the generator relay. It's not in the article because that was based on my car ('99) which was the only year 2g to NOT have a generator relay. It should be bolted next to the bcs.

I believe the second plug is for the evaporative emission purge solenoid valve.

The noise filter isn't "necessary" but is good to have if you can locate one.
On the second one, do the solenoids, (fuel pressure and emissions purge control), near the brake reservoir have the pulgs in them? There is also an EGR solenoid on down. I also have a strange plug attached to the brake reservior itself. Just a couple things to check out. On the first one, I am not sure, the coolant overthrow container has something that attaches to it, but I really can't tell. I am sure you probabally already checked this out but here is a useful link

All of my solenoids have been removed before I bought it. I think I found what it is though. In the link you gave it does show that there are three solenoids but in the tech article there are only two.

Still dont know about the first pic though. It almost looks as though it just get mounted/grounded somewhere?

Also, still wondering about the noise condenser.

Solution
That rrelay in the first picture was oringinally mounted on the bracket for the coolant over flow. Not sure what it is for. I had to relocate mine due to a front mount intercooler.

"The generator relay functions as a backup for the flow of electricity to the rotor coil (field coil) if there is a disconnection or damaged wiring of the charging warning light." It actually is a resistor and diode in series but looks like and is referred to as a relay. (FYI: It is connected in parallel to the charging warning light, it's diode and the 10A fuse.)

It doesn't look like the metal bracket contacts anything internal so I doubt it's a ground. Bolt it down if you can, if not don't worry about it as long as the alternator keeps doing its job.
