2G New gst! few questions!

Just bought my 97 gst! its mint! 88k on orignal motor! All stock except:

apexi n1 with megan racing dp.
Poly. Motor mounts

fuel labs afpr

walbro 255

Now the only thing thats wrong is it idles kind of high....around 1300 to 1450.

and when I hit my brakes my head lights dim and the gauge cluster dims.

also if i have my hazzards on or directional on it dims. is this mean i need a new alternator!?

Sounds like an alternator possibly, should take it to autozone and have the alt bench tested. as for the idel, once the car is warmed up you can try adjusting the BISS on the throttle body under the black cap on top. Get your idle to 850. But get your alt fixed first since that will mess up your idle as well. My guess is maybe they cranked up the idle to keep the car running since at lower rpm the car may die due to a dying alt.

Vacuum leaks will also make your idle go crazy.. After you get your alternator checked and it still idles funny. Try a boost leak test.

yeah i know theres some boost leaks, you can feel it. its not to bad but im getting a fmic, and intake and all the goodies this week.
