New to the forum! Few questions

Hey guys I'm new to the forum I've been doing a lot of reading before signing up.. I have always been in the rx7 community and I've been out of the go fast game for awhile. I just recently purchased a 1992 eagle talon tsi previous owner did quite a few things to it .. It has no spark or fuel and he got tired of it and went ahead and purchased it... I am completely new to the DSM family where do I start? No spark or fuel? It has a built 6bolt motor in it still learning everything it has.. Thanks in advance

Could be anything ecu, sensor wires, so many things this is where you begin to read the tech threads, and use search for similar problems regarding your problem. Welcome to dsms.

Trouble shooting spark and fuel is no different then any other vehicle, start at the obvious sources and radiate outwards until you find the issue.

See if you have pressure at the rail, if so then your injectors aren't opening for some reason. If not, see why not, check that the fuel pump comes on, that the filter isn't clogged, etc.

Spark? Plugs, wires, coil, ecu, test them all.

Fuel pump is not coming on... I wired it directly to battery just to make sure.. With fuel cycling threw the rail still no fire.. I pulled wires with no spark at all... Wires have been replaced with new plugs is there an online FSM for a 92 Tsi? Thanks again

Not that easy, do you have a 25 dollar manual for your car, have you looked at any tech threads, on no spark, or no fuel? Could be wiring somewhere, a bad fuel pump, relays fuses, pick one thing, and keep going thats also how you learn your car. Especially on a car you just purchased and dont know the history of the vehicle.

I think its a easy car but thats me, do a google for fuses, or relays on this car, also a manual is a very cheap asset at any auto store.

The rotary motor itself gives my mind a good brain fart. However. What all mods have been done to the car?

The engine was just rebuilt it has about 500mi. on it. Its a 6 bolt with 2G pistons on 1G rods, Cometic head gasket, ARP head studs and Moly/Graphite coated Clevite main bearings. The short block was assembled by Dennis Hawkins at Precision Machine Services. It has a K&N air filter and EVO 3 big 16G turbo Also has ACT 2100 clutch

My street ported 90 vert was much more of a pain in the ass then either of my eclipses.

If i remember and find it soon i'll link a thread to no starts/spark with some good things to check.

That would be great! Only thing is I've had rx7s for almost 8 years after having them you know the ins and outs of them I would much rather yank out half of this crap and drop in a haltech e6k which is what my old 7 had

Ok... Tested fuel pump wiring and fuel pump everything in good shape I checked plugs and wires also good shape. Now I think the ecu might be fried I checked the ohms at the fuel injectors and got nothing.. Got no check engine light or boost gauge doesn't budge I removed the ecu opened it up and there is defeinetly has some corrosion build up around the capacitors has almost a slimy residue and resistors have corrosion around them. A buddy has a 92 gst I'm gonna take the computer from his car to see what happens. Any other suggestions? Btw thanks for that link was def useful
