First, before I say anthing else, in case it helps I've recently installed an evo III 16g turbo, 650cc injectors, wallbro 255 fuel pump.
Ok. Here they go.
1. I have a CEL code 0443 Evaporative purge control valve malfunction it went off earlier, then came back on for my last idle log. Should I be worried right now? Can I tune without fixing it then address it later?
2. AFPR. I'm ordering one tomorrow. Can I go ahead and tune my idle/cruise as best I can without one? Will my engine be ok to cruise around with the stock one until I get mine and install it? What adverse affects may happen if I try to tune with the stock FPR?
3. Wideband o2. Just got a LC-1, It is hooked up, and working fine, but it isn't linked into the ECU as of right now. Will I have difficulty tuning with link without the wideband reading, or can I get a fairly good start by monitoring my wideband gauge and the logging available already through my ecu?
4. I have the boost controller turned all the way down, I got into it once to see how it reacted, and noticed that there is horrible boost creep. (went from 12-20 before I let off at around 6k give or take) I understand that if I am running 20-22 PSI, I wont really have a creep problem at that point. Will 650cc injectors allow me to run 20-22 PSI safely with an evo III 16g? If so, would it be possible/advisable to tune it as best as possible for that boost and bypass addressing the boost creep issue?
5. If the answer to the last part of Q4 is no, and I need to address the creep problem. What is the cheapest way I can do that? External wastegates seem like they could be pricey, but if I must I will get one. I know I've read something about porting a flapper or something on the wastegate. What is the process to do this, and is it something rather simple, or definently something to get a shop to do? How much would it cost if I went that route instead of an external wastegate?
