my speedo says im doing twenty when im at a walking pace
any ideas whats causing this..

my speedo didnt work before
the pigtail to the VSS was melted (dont know why)
so i got another pigtail

and now its doing this..
is there any way to fix the speedo needle some how ?

Is it inaccurate at other speeds, like highway speed? How long has it been doing this? Like greyspirder asked, are you on stock wheels or possibly undersized aftermarket?

they are 16 inch wheels same as stock...
and honestly i havent drove the car on the freeway in a while..
ts been doing this ever since i put that new pigtail... Never worked before that

Maybe speed sensor? Its on the top of the transmission in the middle of the back motor mount by the battery.

Its a possibility. I'm not sure how you would test it without buying another one though. I had to buy one for my car because I snapped the end of it off like an idiot. They are like 86 bucks at advance auto.

It has a plastic gear on the bottom of it. You could pull it out and see if it is in good shape and not missing teeth.

they are not hard to pull out. The rear tranny mount goes around it, it has a clip that goes around the connector. You have to pull the clip off (use a small flathead screwdriver to get it off) then just pull the connector off. Make sure you try and grab the clip when it comes off, sometimes they tend to shoot off when you relieve tension. Then there is one 10mm bolt (i think) on top of the tranny to one side of the sensor and then it should just pull right out.

someting i forgot to mention
the car has those white gauge "face" or what ever its called...
so the needle might have been taken out ..
how can i recalibrate them??
