Do brakes come like this ? I got them from pep-boys they were the more expensive ones. I been getting wheel noise so i went to check it out. When the pulled the pads off the top and bottoms look warn but it doesnt seem possible to wear this way. I also replaced the shim clips.

i was going to check the other side but i already had my hands full with other things being done to car plus i was losing sunlight

It's to help prevent noise. Did they come that way new? It should only be relieved back around an eighth of an inch. Still, nothing much wrong with those, there's still plenty of pad to absorb heat.

i was getting alot of noise here and there when turning with them , only pass side. I already tried use the brake squeak stuff without any luck. Yesterday a buddy said sometimes dirty sometiems get wedge in between the pad. Im thinking why not try it . So i took them off cleaned them up also bought new shims for it. I haven't driven it yet cause i did VC gaskets that day also. I cant remember if the pads were like that when i put them in . It was a little bit ago.
